C63s do ecu reflashes and downpipe

hi everyone just have had my c63s over a yr now and would like to power it up further! Yes c63s does impress me in every single way after owned previously the w204, porsche 993 n 997 turbo n 996 GT3, and nissan R35.
which ecu flash is to go for at moment? We have rennitech, weistec, eurocharge (my w204 was on their v5) and velos? And whether is it ok to do a $1500 downpipe over the $2800 weistec one which claims to have ceremic coating and bolt on installation? From my previous experience its more economical and satisfactorying to do both the downpipe n ecu at the same time so i can have a big smile on my fat face

Where are you located. I think most of the options are good. Most comapanies seems to have their strong and weak points. But Stage 2 is going to be noticeable power no matter who you get it from. Even if one company says a bit more power you could never know for sure.
If you are located close to one of the tuners then for simplicity's sake I would go with them. That was the main reason I got the tune I did.

thanks for the insight. Im outside of the states so wont be close to any n i dont really trust any of my local shops due to the small size of our country (new zealand). Good thing is we dont have any legal restrictions on what modifications can be done, as long as it passes a warrant of fitness test, ie it does going forward and back, turns and stops

Regardless of which tuner you chose, you will have to send your ECU to them if they are not local to you.

Ecu flash

Another kiwi ! Thought I was the only one on the forum.

I live in South Africa now so trust me I had the same concerns as you when it came to letting people work on my car. Do your research meet them in person , check out their workshop and trust your gut.

I found a great workshop locally to me so there should surely be an authorized dealer of the brands that advertise on this website in NZ. Getting the ecu out is a bloody mungrel so make sure you factor a days labor on top of the cost of tuning.

Let me know if you find some one

I am located in Macau and tuning backup is very limited. I did went for Weistec ecu tune, down pipe high flow filter, VTA adapter plus large gearbox oil ban. I have to dismantle my Ecu which is not easy, send all the way to Weistec Anaheim shop which took me nearly 2 weeks round trip together with down pipe plus parts I have ordered. Things seems to be okay but problem arises on the fitment of the down pipe because of RHD and LHD !!!
We did got the problem sort out but takes a lot more time plus extra shipping charges which I will say is fair. After everything got installed I am very happy with my car and nearly 6 months from now everything runs well.
In fact I did got my car back to dealer for scheduled service and they said nothing about my car regarding voiding the warranty!

have you run it on a dyno yet ?

be interested to know what it makes, I'm looking at doing a full armytrix exhaust system as I got offered a discount if they can do a photo shoot afterwards, still a bit of cash to throw down for 15-20hp !

I've heard some not so great things about armytrix exhausts and their after sales service. Have a good check around on the internet before making any final decisions.

G'day mate! Yea its the whole trusting issue ay.
luckily a mate of mine has been a merc mechanic for over 20yrs n also workd on AMGs for a good decade so he can help me do all of removal of ecu n installation of downpipes easily enuf )
so the key is to get the right downpipe n tune, hence my post.

When the problem arise they told me to send my stock DP to their head quarters and custom make one that will fit for my RHD car. That's why I am saying it's fair for both customer and builder.

Stock RHD DP vs catless DP for driver's side, as you can see it will block something which is the steering column!
The passenger side DP was fine!

You have a nice vehicle history there lol I use AMR Performance for my tuning needs. They are great guys and their software is lifetime warrantied! From what I have seen I believe they make some of the best power numbers as well. Stage 2 will feel a **** ton faster too. Stage 2 on my C43 feels insane compared to stock, so I could only imagine on your beast! Check out this link for your software upgrade
