Just ordered mine through OEDiscount parts. Can get it for way cheaper than the Ebay link (even with 2 day shipping, way cheaper). Will let you know how it fits/is the correct one once I get it.

I tried the site just now and it says it's not a valid part number when I use A0008171701. Weird!

It is easy, to pop it out, all you have to do is sqeeze the two springs together. Then the new one, just press it in place. Heres some photos.

I would believe from the pictures I have see, part # A0008171701 comes like the picture below, not certain though.... I wonder if the spring part on the OEM emblem comes off and is fastened onto the back of the black badge?

My black badge ( # A000 817 1701 ) that I ordered from my MB parts centre ( Canada ) on March 7th just came in today from Germany.... so from order date to arrival it took 11 days. Cost is $57 and was given 15% discount, so $50. Will post pics on Monday when I pick it up.
