As far as I know only ZAC have a spot for the plate. Pics of mine below. VRP says larger filter than ZAC ...hell no, ZAC filter are already barely fitting why would you want bigger. I already switched to K&N to get some clearance.

K&N left, ZAC right ...

that engine compartment looks amazing for sure.
I think i like the Modal set up with the way they isolate the filter from the rest of the engine and heat
who makes the carbon fiber ram air set up you have? Very nice

Looks like it's made by Gruppe-M.

ok, fair enough. I'm just also advising that bang for your buck, none are that great. tell me how the air gets to the filters if they are sealed against the bonnet? Curious...

Thanks. Yes, it's Gruppe-M as states eaflier. I also installed the ZAC heatshields. They basically also touch the Bonnet and work similar as the MW boxes to shield against hear from the engine.

best bang for your buck is downpipes by far. The fact you can get downpipes for $750 (1/2 the cost of some of these intakes) is crazy

our kit isnt done, Carbon tubes or powdercoated tubes should really look awesome especially with our custom turbo heat shield. we will have a spot for your engine builder.

Uh how do you think air gets the the filters in the sealed OEM boxes? There are air scoops and an intake tube that draws air from the front of the car and rams it into the sealed airbox - it still uses that do primarily draw air in aftermarket intakes sealed to the hood, closed, open, etc.

Did u really have to alter the hood for the intake to fit?

The manufacture recommends to "massage" the under hood padding. I did but then also replaced the original ZAC filters with same style K&N, which came 3/4 less rim diameter. That makes all the difference.

do these K & N filters have a part ID #? I have the same intakes as you (ZAC) and definitely want to get a good quality smaller filter like that...

Hi Jatt143,

I am looking into purchasing the same cai from BMS. Was this an issue that warrants concern? The issue of metal shavings within the CAI. Was it resolved by the BMS?

Many thanks,

Many thanks,

im not the person you asked but I’ll give my experience with BMS.

The piping is cheap and came with metal shavings that I ended up having to use wd40 and water to get out. But before that was an issue they sent me the wrong parts and gave me flak for trying to hold them accountable for it.

Once the actual parts I was supposed to get arrived; the piping doesn’t have any crimping or a way for the hoses to stay attached even with the clamps. So you have to crimp the end of the piping yourself if you don’t want the hose to pop off.

Don’t waste your money with BMS.

crimping aka a ridge or similar at both ends of pipe to either cause friction with turbo adapter and filter or to make it a seat/groove for the clamp to press the turbo boots in to avoid slipping off? If so, I don't think any of the metal and even some of the CF tubing intakes have that (BMS, VRP, ZAC, MW, Blackboost)?! They are all just flat at the end. Maybe Eventuri has it? Dont remember if even turbo inlet itself have that "crimp/ridge"?

The only issue with the BMS is that it is on perpetual back order. @BMS any idea when they will be available?

the same with VRP... backordered LOL

The filter shown here with the K&N is the filter from Gen1, discontinued a few years ago.
The new smaller one can be purchased here.. and is as small a diameter possible while still fitting the 100mm inlet.
Our website has just received a major update, more spare parts will be online soon, in the meantime if you need anything just contact us via the website.

Damnnn, i didn't know BMS rolled like that. I thought they manufactured in-house. I'm not too concerned about the price hike because ordering, redistribution, quality control, all that costs money but i didn't think they just sold pre-fab stuff from China.
