After landing 60 miles from my house and USPS taking it 400 miles farther and back again, mine’s out for delivery today finally.

Fitted mine. Works great. Sounds great at startup now and also the biggest difference is 20-40% throttle under load. Just idling in Sport + with PE turned on, there is not a huge difference, as others have said. Obviously a big difference in Comfort.

Ok so I'm scratching my head...

I have a late production (12/16) 2017 C63S Edition One Coupe with Performance Exhaust. And I have the secondary cat delete. And exhaust firmware update.

I installed the ASR module, took all of a whopping 5 min. I installed it with the car off. Started it, in Comfort mode. Loud cold start, then got quiet. Used the ASR remote, and can readily hear the exhaust get louder in Position 1. But pretty much the same volume (to my ear) as when I simply press the Performance Exhaust button (pre-ASR install). So it works. Good.

So I let the car idle with it connected for about 10 min, then turned it off. Let it sit for about 20 min, then jumped in and drove off to work.

This thing is noticeably QUIETER than prior to the install. Prior to the install, I can get the exhaust to be LOUD with only moderate throttle input, while in Comfort mode. And naturally, when in Sport+, it's just LOUD.

But now, post-ASR module, its a LOT quieter and more muffled, no matter what mode I put it in (1 or 2, exhaust valve button open or closed) while in Comfort mode. In Sport+, it definitely gets loud, but I'm fairly certain its not as lout as pre-ASR module. More importantly, it was my understanding that this would result in the valves being 100% open when opened by the keyfob, regardless of the car mode (eg Comfort). So I can run around in Comfort suspension with the exhaust LOUD. That's absolutely not the case thus far.

Again, I checked with the car idling if the keyfob works; there's definitely a noticeable difference. But its definitely not louder as others have mentioned, than pre-ASR, at least for me.

Will give it another try while driving in the morning. But for now, I'm really disappointed... :/

I don't know if this could be a fix but I would try to reprogram the ASR module so you are 100% sure that it starts with valves open on startup.
When activating the car (so ignition and electronics on but no motor start), keep pressing the 'valves open button' on the key until you here the valves from the exhaust performing a repeated on/off sequence.

Now your ASR is programmed to always start with open valves... maybe yours was programmed to use 'Serien mode'...

Hope this might help.

I'll try it. But I got the module with only 2 modes: Sport (100% open) and disabled (OEM, as controlled by the OEM exhaust button). And again, you can audibly hear the exhaust get louder from normal (valves partially closed) when using the remote, but its deifinitely quieter than when the valves are open via the OEM button. Definitely weird.

I disconnected the module and reconnected the factory harness, and yea...definitely much louder.

odd. Another really long shot, but did you let the car sleep for a while and then do the install with the key far away? Just a really obscure thought that, if not, did the car not “like” the unplugging and default to some closed mode. Really reaching, I know.

Alright guys, I just installed the sim on the h-pipe valve and gave it a test. Unfortunately, I don’t think it made any difference. Any increased volume I hear is more than likely placebo, and unfortunately (and most importantly), the annoying issue with the idle sound getting quieter as you press harder on the brake when in gear is still present.

I’m honestly at a loss as to what causes the idle to get quieter since the two rear valves are forced open with the ASR and the h-pipe valve connector is physically disconnected with a sim. So surely it should not be able to function or move based on brake pressure. I’m starting to believe that the idle/brake sound is more so a function of the ECU (not just the valves), and may require some deeper digging into reprogramming/flashing to get the desired sound.

Finally received my module today. Super excited... However, I must be the only person here who doesn't know which harness/connector to disconnect. I have a group of three that are foam-wrapped. One is blue which is usually for fibre... So it comes down to two separate connectors that are foam-wrapped. Which one is it?

Reference the instructions and match up with the wiring colours.

only one of the three is the right connector that will fit. The other two are way bigger with lots more wires.

OK that was a very simple install. So yea, I have a late 2015 C63S and I can definitely hear the difference between OEM open and ASR open. When idle it is subtle but when driving - OMG. I do a lot of 50kmph city driving and just keeping revs around 2k rpm, it is a definitely louder... maybe 20%? I don't have to consciously step on it just so I can hear the car more. I feel sorry for the 2018 owners but there is definitely a noticeable difference in my car. Here's a video of it idle and with stationary revs. But honestly, it is much more pronounced just during everyday driving.

Phorte, almost immediately above, said he did. There are others too who mention it in the thread.
