Curious to see how much they cost here for front and rear and their reputation. Will post back in a couple days since it's public holidays here atm.

So my shop came back to me today. He said that platz is just rebranded HHC/Ksport parts.
He also mentioned that a big brand of forged wheels starting with V has their wheels made in Taiwan aswell.

Well as we say, everything is rebranded... doesnt really change a whole lot in my mind.. Platz! has worked amazing for myself and others that Track there cars as well. I go with what works, and what has GREAT support. (period)

True to everything now are just rebrands. I wasn't trying to imply they were bad or anything like that.
At the end of the day it's the product itself and after sales service that matters for me.

They do have great support. Havent put my rears on yet but I really dont like the fact that they have "platz" engraved three times into the rotor itself. Talk about excessive!

C63S, 2004 S4, 2001 S4 Avant
So my 2020 C63S coupe is in for B service and just got called that the front pads are at 1 mm and recommend front pads and rotors as they say that there is some scoring of the rotors (I am at 6k miles, and 5 track days over the last year). They also wanted me to replace the rear tires (4/32) and just going to skip it since I want to go wider and I have a set of track wheels at home. Looking at the options above, the Brembo OEM replacement vs Platz vs Racing Brake are the options. The RB links above are not working for the items, but to summarize:

OEM at dealer (front rotors/pads) - $3300
Brembo from FCP, $900 for pair rotors - https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/mer...mbo-2304211212
Platz, $1125 for pair rotors (drilled above, slotted on website) - https://platz1motorsports.com/Platz1...AMG-p147333155
Racing Brake, $2915 for front and rear rotors, pads - https://racingbrake.com/mb-irk-12

The RB links above don't work and I cannot seem to find the rotors only, as I am using EBC Blue pads from FCP (yeah, probably should switch to a harder track pad for track days) so do not need the whole package.

So would the Racing Brake rotors be able to handle the abuse of track days better than the Brembo/OEM, or just suck it up and do FCP and replace when they are worn down?

Do the 2-piece Brembo rotors from FCP.

If you want a proper track pad, there are some at

Last month, My Check Pad light came on 2 days before my MB appt. for a new Key Fob and a rattle. I immediately drove it to an experienced AMG old school mechanic who said I need both front pads and rotors. He advised use only OEM Brake components., Price $3,200 with tax. I call MB and the SA eventually got it to $2,702.40 for Front brakes and Rotors. For me, I just wanted to get it done since it was going to be there and they supplied a Loaner. I have 2019 C63s coupe with 16,563 miles on it.
So I believe there is room for getting at a better price at the MB Dealership if you elect to go that way.

I run into stop and go traffic at times in my travel around NYC. So just over 16,000 miles the Check Brake Pad light came on. I stopped at an indy experienced AMG mechanic who said both front brakes and rotors need to be replaced.
At the MB Dealership I had both replaced based on the indy recommendations and the MB Dealership findings on the front rotors: Rotor min thk 33mm actual 34.1 and 34.3mm.
My car was there for other issues

so just had it done.

In case anyone is interested, here's the EBC part numbers I do have (these came from EBC) ...

For 2016 AMG C63 S Sedan (fronts are 3-piston/side, red calipers, 390 mm/15.4 in, iron rotors)

orange stuff front pads: DP91939
orange stuff rear pads: N/A

yellow stuff front pads: DP41939R
yellow stuff rear pads: DP42350R

blue stuff front pads: DP51939NDX
blue stuff rear pads: DP52350NDX

RP-1 front pads: DP81939RP1
RP-1 rear pads: N/A

RP-X front pads: DP81939RPX
RP-X rear pads: N/A

I've used Yellow Stuff and Blue Stuff and am moving to RP-X for track-only running (with Blue Stuff on rears). I run Blue Stuff for street use and have also run Yellow Stuff on the street. Blue/Yellow are both fine for street use.

When I swap to/from winter/summer wheels/tires, before putting the wheels up on the rack, I always clean the wheels and apply a coat of ceramic paint protection (I just use the cheapo Amazon Mr. Fix 9H stuff and it works just fine). As such, I never worry about brake dust since it comes off easily just using a soft brush and Palmolive dish soap (I use Palmolive because it has an almost neutral PH, 7.2 IIRC).
I installed Red Stuff on my wife's 2020 FL C63S coupe. Initially, two years ago I wanted them then. Bought a set. Did the front. Went to the rear and oops. Wrong pad design. Last year the redesigned pads came out. They've been great. I don't track. But I am a driver; not a commuter... Had them on two 09 Ford GT500's; one of which was a KR. Also on a 13 C63 coupe, an 09 BMW 650i coupe. And now on the new Benz. I just can't get them for the Macan Turbo. Rotors are too big at 360mm and it's too heavy. My options are Yellow Stuff or Green Stuff. And I need new pads on the front at 46K.
