Want Amber turn signals for US car

I have always hated the dumb US regulations on car. One is the turn signal. I don't like the fact that the brake light flashes when i put the turn signal on. Does anyone know where i can find Euro spec tail lights and is it is just plug and play or would i need to reprogram.

This is not a US Reg fault unlike the front side markers. This is just MB being ****s. I see plenty of other cars that have amber turn signals.

I bought mine on eBay but they were damaged during shipment. I returned them and I'm now selling the car anyway.

However, I do have the front headlights without amber that I'll sell for $3k if anyone wants them.

No it's plug and play. They come with the control modules which are also very expensive. $3k is a steal.

I know it is plug and play. I mean did the instrument cluster give you an error code for no side marker

That's what I said. Plug and play mean no error codes. It wouldn't be plug and play if you had to do extra work to remove error codes.

Don't mean to be the fact check ****, but in this case the red turn signals is indeed the fault of US Regulations.

US Regulations require that the rear turn signal lights be of a certain width, length, and height.

Unfortunately, the yellow turn signals on many foreign designed vehicles do not meet one of these dimension requirements. Redesigning the rear tail lights just to meet this requirement is a lot more expensive than the alternative: In order to pass regulation, the manufacturer just makes the whole brake light blink as a turn signal.

Ah I see. It's because I see a lot of new American Cars (Jeeps come to mind), Fiat 500e, Japanese cars that have amber rear turning signals.

Well, that's too bad then. Thanks for the info!

So how would one...

Update their vehicle to "take it overseas"?

My friend has a 2018 GLE-350. The turn signal housing appears to be identical.

Not sure of your question as you say " Take overseas" , you dont need to do anything per blinkers etc, if your taking your car over to Europe , its only if your bringing a UE spec or so back to the US. (they will look for the US bumpers, and turn signals etc )

I agree, I hate it. I'd love to find the Euro amber blinking taillights for my SLC300. My CLK350 has amber. I hate the blinking brake light. Hopefully someone will know the answer and help us. I'd love to just change them out.
