Im not sure how to take this. I drove a Volvo s60 and it was faster and ran better than the Mercedes. In fact, there is no comparison between the two. Volvo now being the better choice in my mind. Are you saying that if you spend enough money on a car I should expect to want to rip my hair out when I drive and to suck it up?

I replied because I thought you had a fix? is this not the case?

I wasn't the one with the "fix".

Also, this is the w205 c63 forums. I don't think your Volvo s60 was faster than a w205 c63. If your car is not in fact a c63, you are in the wrong forum. I noticed your post history and you said you have a GLC non-AMG. In that case you should probably just take your car to the dealer they should be able to sort it out for you. If your dealer is refusing to do it try a different one.

Edit: and don't pay for it either, if your car is new! You shouldn't have to!

LOL I thought the forum title was the name of the breaks I should buy. Clearly, I am very knowledgeable about cars. I tried convincing Mercedes to replace my breaks and they said they would only do it for cost plus 15. Which is why I was so inspired to suddenly join this community. Figured someone would have better answers then I do.

This thread is about what "Brake Pads" to use to replace the OEM pads. (not Break pads) It is mostly for a C63 or C63S and might not apply to your GLC. Go to a good Indy shop and get a quote for pad replacement. I just had my rears replaced at about half of the MB quote and I supplied the Porterfield RS4 pads.

I’m at about 40% pad life and starting to look at option. I’m used to being overwhelmed by aftermarket options...not the case with Mercedes it would seem.

All you need...just look at which color calipers you have and buy the set you need (pricing is per set, so you only need 1 for rear and 1 for front):

I find my porterfields are still pretty dusty on the fronts and need to be warmed up before a panic stop .....found out the hard way and almost rear ended a car . I'm looking for a pad that has considerable less dust w/ decent stopping .... My wheels take forever to clean

I've always had great results with EBC brake pads. Manufactured in either England or Italy. summitracing.com EBC Redstuff 3000 ceramic brake padspads. For my 2018 C63S – Front DP31939C, $140. Rear DP32117C, $190.

I replaced my rear pads with Porterfields R4-S and also getting just as much brake dust as the standard pads.

Really? Damn that sucks, I was just about to order a set of front and rears for $445 USD including shipping to Sydney, Australia from the Porterfield site

Thanks for the recommendation and part numbers. Really helps. Do these pads work even when cold or do they need to be warmed up before hard stops?

Hey apart from being low dust, are these brake pads quiet? How is the braking performance compared to OEM? Better, worse or same?

I am so tired of the OEM pads noise that I just want to get them changed. Looks like I have to choose between HAWK and these EBC ones.

Thanks Mstraka! I have ran Red Stuff on my Shelby GT500's and a previous '13 C63AMG coupe. Loved them! I have three qualifiers: Good bite cold, no noise and virtually no dust. EBC Red Stuff provides all three. I washed the new ride yesterday. I can't believe the amount of dust from the OEM pads. Thanks again for the info.

Thats what I paid to get them shipped to Melbourne.

The pads still work great cold or hot.
I haven't fitted the front ones yet as the ones on there are around 60% still.

They don't fit* the 2020 C63S model.

The fronts seem to fit. The rears do not.

I've 3 full sets of Redstuff on 3 cars !

I was under the impression that low dust Ferodo Eco Friction was fitted as OEM to C Class since 2014 .

I wish there was a full set for the 2020 model. Like I said earlier, I really like the stuff. Unfortunately, for the rear pads, not yet.

Why should this be the case? AFAIK, the brakes are identical from pre-FL to FL. Am I wrong on this?

My wife is out with the car this evening. I'll post pics later this evening around 8PM CST. You'll notice the caliper and the pads are different in preventing your pads from fitting.

Here's pics of the 2020 rear brake caliper. Those with older calipers (2018 and older?) will notice the difference.

Just ordered some Hawk 5.0 brake pads for the front and rear. The oem ones suck, they leave a lot of brake dust and squeal like hell. It's a little embarrassing when people look over and they see a nice C63 that can't afford to replace brakes lol.
My Hellcat had the same problem and the hawk pads fixed it. Should have them installed by next weekend. Meantime I'll start checking to see how to disable the rear calipers.
