That thing is fast. Saw one on the road about a month ago, and he obviously wanted to play. Straight up walked me from a roll. Time for upgraded turbos, intake, DP and a tune...

Did you ever get a chance to record that audio? I’m fairly happy with how my 2019 C63S sounds but would love a bit more character below 4K rpm and especially below 3k. I’m thinking about picking up the Renntech EVM as install looks like a breeze but I’m curious how it sounds on the facelift.

Few hours ago, after I did a cold-start with my MY2019 C63S (in the parking garage at work), just left it in parking and I revved the car a few times in RACE mode. When revving and letting go from over 5k RPMs, there was Pops and Crackles every single time. When revving to 3k - 5k RPMs, it was still loud. I had my windows down when doing this and it was obviously loud. Not sure if it's just the cold start.

Mine is very loud for a bit after cold start, driving around in cracks/pops at all RPMs, but settles down after. Also - your car let you rev past 4K while stationary? Mine won't let me rev past 4K while stationary in park or neutral.

Yes was able to take it past 6k RPM when in PARK after cold start. I haven't tried this without a cold start though. Can try next time and share my findings. Also not sure if it does the same in Neutral.

That is the case with most modern gear boxes.. it isn't very good to rev the engine high when it's not under load. a way around this safety feature is to drive in manual mode and at a roll go from first to neutral.

That's odd.. I can't go past ~4200-4400 in Neutral or park no matter the setting hot or cold.. The stock software prevents it when stationary in neutral or park.. Is your car tuned?

This is for the facelift version
I just tried that and in sport + when I pushed it to 4500 rpm and let my foot off the gas the car POPPED and banged loud like an explosion and everytime you repeat it'll keep doing it... The problem is we're driving a C63... we shouldn't need to push it past 4k rpm to get something.

Sounds like a Race Start. You weren't in race mode with your foot on the brake were you?

Oh yes. I was as at Mercedes World Brooklands over the weekend
During the hot laps session, I had a chat with the silver arrows guy.

He said you have to lift of the throttle very aggressively and not gradually.
I tried it on my way back and My car was popping and crackling just like my 2017.

Its always been there just that it’s now delivered in a different way.

The silver arrows team had one facelift C63S in the pack and you could instantly
tell that it sounded deeper in tone. Combined with the pops and crackles,
it makes the facelift a better buy all round . My take.

I was also there on Monday morning for my driving experience. I really enjoyed the session, the instructor was really knowledgable and did a great job of showing the differences in how the car handles depending on driving mode and with various assists turn off/down etc.

It was great to push the car to its limits to see exactly how it would react without endangering other people. I'm now looking at some novice track days with tuition and possibly going back for another session when my brother goes for his E63 experience.

It was a lovely day. I arrived around 1:30pm that day

By the way did you get a certificate after your session? Reason why I’m asking is the complimentary offer has been changed from Driver Training which was a whole day to driving experience which lasts 4 hours.

I did get a certificate afterwards, yes. I wonder why the complimentary offer has changed. Did you go for any of the extras? I think when I go back I might be tempted with the GTR passenger ride

Good to know and thanks.
I’m due to utilise my complimentary offer next month.
In all fairness, the whole program could be done in 4 hours.
You do get tired after a while. At least I do.

I can also confirm that in my 2019 C63s, when I get the RPMs up over 4500 and then let off the throttle quick, this thing pops, crackles, and backfires enough to wake anyone up. Just FYI, I had to have it in either Sport +, or Race to do this, but it did not seem to matter what speed I was going, rather the RPM number.

I don't know if Jamie(@shotbyjamie) on IG is on here from RBR.. but you listen to his prefacelift no mods then listen to our 2019's... that's the issue.. His sounds like it has a tune and exhaust compared to the 2019 and it's bone stock.. Rokenr posted on IG a few days ago and it was bliss to hear.. we only get a taste of that when we let off above 4500rpm... he just has to hit the gas a little bit and it's snap crackle pop and bang all day.

Yup!! Did you consider doing any mods to the car? (Tune, new exhaust, Exhaust valve Opener)

I agree! I got tired of driving in the all day event, especially when it's a hot day.

I did it before when the session was longer and just last week in the 90 minute session and I found them exactly the same just more compressed, if that makes sense.

Sorry forgive me but who is DME tuning ? I have stayed away from modding for a while but my last mods were by Rennteh and Kleemmann ...Just got a 2019 C63S ( before that it was the same car but 2017 ) ..did ou just do the ECU ? Is it mapped by DME ? Is it completely reversible ? similar to the Renntech/ Kleemann ones ? Thanks
