What rpm range are you getting the crackles and pops? And do you also get them on downshifts?

Can you get the DME tune just for the increased crackles and pops without modifying the engine so you don't void the powertrain warranty?

Los Angeles. I have a 2020 C63s coupe on order expected to be at the dealership by mid October. It's in the final stages before it's to be shipped.

no, not possible. In order to increase those crackles + pops they have to alter the ECU fuel tables.

Terrible how especially for people with leased cars like myself we're stuck because tuning it drops the warranty right away andd the dealer will not be happy to find out a car was ever tuned.

Mine is leased...it is pretty difficult to tell its tuned. I spoke to tech yesterday about this, he said unless they read the mapping then they'll find out...all depends on who works on it.

The car is over 80 thousand. Do you want to risk god forbid something goes wrong OR they find out? Im literally trying to find ways to get the sound and pops I want without essentially tuning the car or losing warranty

I wish there was a work around that, but honestly there is none on this car without you spending a considerate amount of money dropping the transmission to change the downpipes for example. If you could do the downpipes easily, atleast then you can get a 200 CEL race cat which will make your car sound better without tuning it. But recently heard, a guy did secondary cat delete and his car was flagged because of the weld marks. And I do not know how correct the rumor is, but Mercedes is going to be updating their system to something similar to what Audi has where the system automatically flags the car if it detects anything that was done on the car. Unreal.

Sounds lovely. Keeps getting worse for us. I heard the bmw facelift next year and the porsche too will feature these "filters" too, so I promise if I hear BMW sounding better than our cars, I will flip the f *** out.

Question: by altering the fuel tables, do you get less or better gas mileage?

Hahahaha, no. Where do you thing those pops and bangs come from? It is just converting your gas into sound. Or your money into sound. No useful outcome, literally.

Absolutely. It is like fireworks on demand. Atleast it was on demand before. Now it is more like the car gives you one once in a while according to its wish.

You’re laughing? I would possibly believe that the change in fuel remapping would intentionally enrich the mixture causing it to ignite when you go off-throttle...

Actually I'm also hitting the ~4.5k RPM rev limit when in neutral or park, during the last few times I tried this. The one time I was able to go past this limit (and get Pops/Crackles) was when I did a real cold start in RACE mode, after my car was parked for roughly 6 hours.

Since it's not a good thing to rev the engine to high RPMs when the engine is cold, I am not tempted enough to try this often. If anyone else (with a facelift C63S) wants to confirm if this is really applicable with cold starts, could give it a try

On a related note, any OBD11 possibilities to prevent this rev nanny in Neutral/Park?

Right? Its like unpredictable. You get it above 4000... sometimes it pops.. sometimes it doesnt. You try again and it pops..etc

On a serious note. It really is true. The car is coming alive as I pile on the mileage

Just wondering if you guys are getting an upshift bang like the old pre facelift models as well? Dunno if you understand what I mean. I am talking about the loud brap the car would make on upshifts. I have not seen any video of the 2019 C63s with upshift bangs like the pre face lift models had.

Not sure if theyre AS LOUD as you mean, but the upshifts sound fine. Especially first, second, third gear. Its the downshifts that are ugly.

The upshift bangs are milder and acceptable.
