Are you sure the US C63s even have them? Has anyone confirmed the oem downpipes have the particulate filter?

New Car
Took delivery of my new 2020 C63 S yesterday, and I can confirm that there are zero pops and crackles. It does rumble and sounds menacing but no pops with valve opened or closed. I traded in my 2020 C43 which had crackles since the first day I owned it. I have no idea why that is. I guess tuning is the only way around it. Need to get to 2k miles before attempting.

I bet it would, but would have to go full on legal/lawyer route for that one. I thought someone early on in this thread even did so, but I never heard the outcome. Also, if MB was going to address this or even acknowledge it officially they probably would have by now, it’s been like 1.5 years now. Though, I’m not sure what ever became of the “petition” and or of the calling MB customer care to add your name to the list thing. We know they could easily make a software update to fix this, but they most likely aren’t willing to if they haven’t by now, unless we get hella lucky and once the engineers have finished with the new 2021 model they have the time to address it. Although, I bet those same engineers are Way to busy attempting to make a hybrid 4cyl engine try to sound Halfway decent especially w those EU sound regulations.
On another note, my 19 does get a few here n there, more when it’s warmed up, and almost always in sport+/race and driving....almost never in Park. Can’t say I’ve tried Neutral much however. For reference, on a round trip to corner store about a mile or so away I usually get between 0-3 Small crackle/pops, So they are there, just more random and not as pronounced as PFL. I am definitely getting downpipes though so I can have more volume and from what I’ve seen of others FL With them, more pops/crackles/bangs.

Does anyone have any good examples of lots of pops/cracks in press vehicles?
Also, would anyone be willing to record short videos of their own cars to do a side by side comparison?
I have a little over 12 million followers across Instagram, and I want to put together something they can't ignore.

As it was explained in other threads, this is the new normal for European cars. It’s not the manufacturers, it’s the government. So here we are, either we put up with the new restrictions or make changes to make the car to our liking. It is what it is. At least it’s a pretty simple fix without needing to tune the car.

I am not sure. ECU was modified to protect the particle filter. Deleting ppf and 2nd cat will be louder but pops will not come back. Has anyone real experience with it? Is the result comparable with 2018 models?

Edit: that's not just European mercs, septic videos are up too.

Yes, but he is quoting MB response when asked why.
they said it was because US regulations....even though there are NO new US regulations and it was done bc EU regulations. MB doesnt really want to seem to do anything about it.
My luck, ill get catted DPs and then MB will finally release a US ecu upgrade w pops n bangs hahah
