it really wasnt much of a review. one crappy launch with no metrics on screen.
didnt bother discussing the drive modes.
there were pops and crackles from the exhaust. I think what people dont realise is this car i believe has engine sound enhancement through speakers. thus the real exhaust sounds are completely drowned out. the pops and crackles may also be slightly lacking , but on my 2018, I have to keep it in gear and rev for a while and let go, otherwise no crackles . there are also no real crackles on downshifts on my 2018.
lastly why didn't he go through the drive modes and test out the traction control? absolute amateur.
didnt try to compare the ride quality . **** review. give me the 2019 and I'll give it a review it half deserves, not this undercooked piece of garbage.

This dude is horrible and has little to no actual automotive knowledge other than what he’s heard and regurgitated from others.
I stopped watching his garbage after he hydro locked his C63S and blamed AMG’s air intake design - which, to no one’s surprise, was never redesigned for the facelift. Nor was it ever a widespread issue like he tried to make it out to be. It was pure clickbait, like all his videos.

2019 C63CS
I don't particularly enjoy his content. I watched his videos at the beginning when he got his C63S to get an owner's perspective, but it got a bit long in the tooth after a while and after he downpiped and tuned it I "tuned" out. It ruined the car for me. But he is actually pretty transparent about his youtubing. After expenses he is not making live on money, though. Based on a recent video he took home about $20k at the end of the year. That's not exactly making a living off of YouTube. If he didn't have a wife that brings in money, he would be a homeless driving an F12. He clearly needs more views, but it's his business so I'm not staying in his way. Nobody has to like his product. At the end of the day, though, he started out as Ford salesman and probably knows Ford, but other cars are a bit over his head. I also thought he did very little homework on the 2019 and completely left out most of the improvements. He didn't even seem to know that the AMG Drive Unit buttons on the left are programmable and can control more than ECO mode and the exhaust and also didn't know that pressing the Drive Mode rotary knob activates I* immediately from any mode or that when you turn off ESC you can choose the level of traction control, instead it was a lot of whining about the supposedly worse sound.

Seems it’s the new direction AMG are moving.
I don’t think I heard any crackles or pops in the A45s
promotional video. I could be wrong.
A lot is pointing to the new emissions test cycle.
My car will not even downshift in race mode until
I have slowed down significantly, then it just drops the gears in sequence.
2017 would downshift the moment lifted of and hit the brakes, and carry on rev matching each time.
That together with the crackles would have increased emissions during a real world test cycle.
Am am I making sense?
Them again if that is the case why would AMG
not just come out and say so.

Wow, tough audience! With all the griping about the 2019 performance exhaust sound I thought you'd appreciate his POV. Just goes to show that no good deed goes unpunished.

What I took from the video more than anything else is how genuinely disappointed Mike was with the sound. He visibly almost sick about it. I've watched almost all of his videos and you don't see him like that very often. You could tell after he initially talked about the sound he tried to move on but you can see in his face the whole time hes driving how distraught he is about the sound.

At the end of the day these guys are all hustling and making it happen. As long as they aren't hurting anyone or breaking the law. More power to them. I could careless what they look like or how they tilt their sunglasses or any other trivial criticism most people wouldn't even give a second thought to.

13:30 in the video the exhaust is crackling sufficiently and isnt much different to the pre facelift. the internal sound speaker enhancement (as is the case in the w213 E63s ) due in my opinion due to very high levels of sound proofing in the cabin prevent most engine and exhaust sounds from permeating the cabin. Unfortunately the speaker enhanced sound doesnt amplify the exhaust note , so no enhancement of pops and crackles, which get drowned out completely by the speaker enhanced sound
maybe if there is a way to turn off the sound through the speakers , you can go back to something similar

I ended up not picking up my 2019 C63S order and found a 2019 E63S Wagon... as it is my first AMG, I’m having a hard time determining if this muted exhaust is implemented on the E as well. Mine does seem to generate at least one or two pops on throttle lift off over 3-4K RPM (not sure exactly, haven’t watched close enough yet).
I do know the the exhaust note sounds from a 2018 C63 I heard last December is what pulled me to the AMGs.

While I haven't heard a 2019 exhaust in person, just watching the video and straining to hear pops and crackles - especially during downshifts - I'm glad I have a 2018 because it's got all the pops and crackles and great sound that first sold me on the C63S. I came from a CLS63S and when I test drove the 2018 C63S over a year ago, it had me at hello. I was blown away by the sound. My first 2018 was a coupe but it got totaled in a minor accident and I ended up with a Cabriolet. They both sound amazing compared to what I heard on Mike's video.

Well said. From my experience, those people who talk about “not a real job” amongst other things are just jealous. Simple as that. I have a coupe friends who are youtubers as well and they hear stuff like this almost on the daily. They are just mad that they make their yearly salaries in a month. I myself, on the other hand. Look up to them and motivate myself even harder.

Well they get paid based on a few factors, and one of them is the length someone watches the video, so he has to draw it out as long as possible to get Ad inserts, as well as the TIME ON VIDEO acknowledgment.

haha, didn't mean to draw ire on this subject with my comments. i'm speaking fully from a "consumerist" standpoint and am detached from/dispassionate about his personal life/career. if this is what he does for a living, all the more power to him. at the least, it shows his videos are polarizing, with some liking them and others, not so much. personally, i have watched his past videos, but even still, i've found myself fast forwarding through most of them to parts where they might interest me. after a short while though, i've stopped watching them because they take on a completely different purpose/tone than what i search the videos for--seeing, hearing the C63 and watching a relatively impersonal and unbiased review of the vehicle. and when there is a reason to be biased, the opinions can stand up under some factual or experiential context. his videos talk about his house, his cars, his job, and more recently shaving razors too much. LOL. just not my cup of tea. kudos to him that he's cracked the code to get to the top of search results all the time, though...and yes, he's good at getting people to click and watch...obviously, he's not dumb. to each his own!

For everyone saying the haters are jealous... he revealed his yearly income (and expenses) and I would be utterly shocked if anyone here was jealous of him. It's one thing to justify financing 90% of a $250k car over 72 months or whatever by saying the YouTube channel pays for it. It's another thing all together to establish a successful business that can support someone not just 2 or 3 or 5 years from now but 20 or 30 years from now.
Now I personally would not go down that avenue unless I was already wealthy because it just doesn't establish a long term plan nor does it lend itself to credible ventures moving forward. What's his resume going to look like in 10 years (or less) if/when the bottom falls out? The YouTube car "enthusiast" genre is pretty saturated already and super light on content. There are a few that have really found a niche (Doug DeMuro making fun of quirky switch gear) but other channels like Streetspeed717, Vehicle Virgins, AutoVlog, and the thousand other copycat channels are all producing what is essentially throwaway content with an occasional "review" that is mostly one dude's opinion and doesn't contain any instrumented testing. It's entertaining every once in a while but it's mostly boring. I actually followed AutoVlog back when it was Mike's Auto Reviews and he worked at the Ford dealership because he could provide some pretty useful details about different specs/trims. Not so much anymore.

He's more into the fart can noises than the actually drive itself.. if you noticed his AMG with the tune and fart can capability he could not stop making it fart all over the place.. then he came to his senses and went back to stock snap crackle and pop.. The bad accent Mr Clean is not so clean in his reviews.. more click bait like his buddy from vehicle virgins.. one day the best he's ever driven was an M5 competiton then he own a Lambo.. click baiter all over youtube.. I'm waiting for an honest review from M Clean, and found none so far.

i have ave watched his overly long and boring videos and he doesn’t really know **** about cars. I don’t care for his content.
