Wondering if you just cleared errors and have not driven it enough to pass readiness.

I am heading back to the shop to install spacers with a 90 degree adapter for the Big Daddy spacers. Wish me luck.

Do you have a similar config? I definitely wish you the best of luck.

I have had my catless downpipes installed since April of last year. I do know that my wife only drives 5-7 miles twice a day. The car is a 2018 and only has 6000 miles.

I hope someone has a solution, as I don't want to have to go back to my original exhaust; that would be a nightmare.

Best of Luck.

Paul, thanks for the quick reply. Do you have a similar config?

Would you mind providing an exact modle of O2 adapter? Possibly a link? I'm assuming that you are talking about O2 spacer/defouler?

Thanks for as much details as you can provide. I'm just looking to be able to get my yearly inspection without having to reinstall my original pipes. They were cut out with a saw-zaw.

Not, I have catted DP - the running discussion on this thread is about the catted DP. In theory a tune should cover you.

Im running modal works downpipes with spacers that i got from Apexmotorhaus. Hit them up on ig they are really helpful. You will need two of them on the lower bung holes.

So just went back to the shop to get spacers one, but the driver side required a 90 degree adapter. Drove required 50 miles or so and all is good.

Quick update on this. All is good after 1500 + miles. Exhaust smell has greatly reduced also. Smell is more in line with the Catted Downpipes I had on my E92 M3, I guess they just needed to break in.

So Catted DP's with the Big Daddy spacers did the trick.

I've been on the fence about installing catted DP's. Thanks for the update.

Buy the catless ones I have and weld in 2 x high flow cats on the secondary pipes.

Modalworks catted downpipes update

I would say that I have about 1000 miles if not more on the car and the cats seem to have broken in the and the smell is negligible. I am no longer having any check engine light issues, that I was having when I originally installed them. It appears that the modalworks Catted downpipes, in addition to the big daddy Spacers did the trick.

and on a unrelated side note I know there are a lot of w205 owners in here I am selling a set of wheel spacers if anyone is interested feel free to get in touch with me at 480-307-3538

I am happy to report that Red Star downpipe with GESI cats (without using any spacer) is not throwing any CEL on my untuned 2020 C63s coupe even after driving the car for 2 weeks daily and about 600 miles after the installation.
I will do actual review on the downpipe and renntech evm and post some video after driving few more miles in a separate post.

I would be very interested in your review! I’ve been wondering what these high flow catted dp’s sound like on FL coupes. Would you mind sharing where you purchased the dps, if there were any fitment issues and did you have the shops drop the transmission or cut out the OEM.

Thanks!

Thanks!
I got mine directly from https://redstarexhaustusa.com/
Sean from there is very helpful so if you have any question about their product, you can email him directly.

There was no fitment issue according to my installer and I had them cut oem dp so that it can be installed without dropping transmission.

I had mine made with GESI cat installed on lower section of downpipe where factory secondary cats are so that it is further away from turbo keeping both turbos cooler.
As other mentioned, catted dp really unlocks the hidden sound on FL c63. I can now clearly hear that AMG barking noise on every upshift and clear popping sound on most downshifts. Hard acceleration sounds pretty amazing!

I heard that factory ECU exhaust sound calibration changes after 4k to 5k miles or so on FL c63 making car sound better. Mine is still at 3.3k mile so I am just waiting my car get more miles to see if exhaust sound get even better.

Did you get the heat shields?
And just to be clear, no CELs after the install with the 300cpsi cats?

Yes, I got the heat shielding with 300 cell GESI cat.
According to BrianShaw23, his Red Star downpipe with 200 cell HJS cat throws CEL, so he had to use Biddaddy spacers to eliminate CEL.
Below is pic of my Red Star downpipe with GESI cats installed at lower section.

I originally ordered the downpipe paired with Red Star's universal O2 spacers thinking that I will get CEL without using spacer.
However, due to limited space down there, my shop couldn't install the O2 spacer + O2 sensors.
They ended up just installing O2 sensors without using spacer and see if CEL comes up.
So far, no CEL after 2 weeks of daily driving and 600 miles.

For my 2020 c63s sedan, I've been heavily debating what to do here as well. This thread got me initially hooked on Catted DPs due to the sounds/price but then the CELs make things always half-way there with bandaids like spacers (even though they probably work well I suppose). If you consider the premium price of a Catted DP + heat shield that some are saying don't throw CELs and may be better built (this is where the premium comes in?), it will run you $2767 for parts. Wouldn't people rather spend $3200 on something like the Fi Exhaust which also gives great sound and hp gains (
)?

Sound restriction on our cars are from downpipe and facelift software tune.
Factory AMG performance exhaust is very nice free flowing exhaust. You won’t see big difference from installing Fi catback exhaust only.
You will be better off just getting something like Renntech EVM to keep AMG exhaust valve fully open.

Interesting, thanks for the advice. First time owner here.

The video of the Fi exhaust sounds very nice though, same if not more than the videos posted in this thread of catted DPs no? I'm only 3700 miles in, so is it too early to tell what my exhaust will sound like. Seems like I need 10k miles before it truly opens up?

Edit: compare say
and start at minute 1:50 in the video in the above post for the Fi Exhaust. Similar if not better on Fi?

You cannot really directly compare exhaust sound from different videos that used different recording devices.
Also, I believe exhaust sounds bit different on coupe vs. sedan.

Anyway, from what I heard from other users with stock setup, you start to notice more exhaust note from the car around 5k miles in on facelift models.

Yeah sounds like I should wait until 5k regardless before making a decision. I'm more interested in the active-sound.eu AVC for now.

Gotta be a little careful when checking out exhaust clips for our cars, most of them (like this Fi Exhaust video) are done on pre-facelift where they don’t have the particulate filter. Our facelift cars benefit more from downpipes to get rid of the filter.

Keep pushing the car! I’d say it started to really come to life after 5-7k miles! I used the Renntech EVM for a while but the car really needs a down pipe IMO haha

Does active sound ship to Canada or US by any chance? It does not come with a remote though which makes it super confusing. Also it attaches to the canbus. The ASR one doesn't. I really do not want to touch the canbus if I can avoid it.
