Opinion on VTA adapters

So, getting a tune and catless DPs done next week for 19 c63s. What are you guys thoughts on VTA adapters? Would be a good time to get them put in with the rest, if I was to go that route. I’ve heard and driven cars with Renntech and Agency Powers VTA, both sounded nice with just the right amount of sound without being too Ricey.
The question is, are there any benefits to adding these or is it purely for sound?
Ive seen another post that recommended turbo smarts mechanical BOV setup that fully replaces the oem system instead of just adding what appears to be a spacer system.

This is just my opinion, but I wouldn’t bother with adapters. The OEM plastic bypass/diverter valves are not great for tuned cars and should really be a standard upgrade for anyone running more boost. The adapters use the OEM valves, just allows you to vent to the atmosphere purely for noise purposes.

There are a few options out there like Turbosmart that offer a full OEM replacement and you can purchase as a diverter/bypass valve or as a hybrid version that lets you vent to atmosphere - both are mechanically controlled rather than by the ECU and come with plug simulators to keep the computer happy.

This is just my perspective, but if you’re going to spent money on an upgrade, even if it’s purely for sound, you should address the shortcomings of the OEM part it’s replacing
(not holding boost well, leaking/cracking/melting, failing electronically, working with the ECU and other modules to control valves rather than mechanically).

Yeah that’s what I was wondering and kinda what I was thinking. Maybe I’ll look into a mechanical replacement. I don’t plan on running crazy boost anytime soon, but if I do upgrade turbos down the road, it would be a good pre requisite upgrade.

so I’ve seen turbo smart , what other options are there out there. Doesn’t seem to be a ton.

I honestly took the hoses off and plugged my intake housing with chair leg caps. It's literally the same thing as in terms of sound. But boy does my car hiss now.

AMGs :)
We have both a VTA adaptor, and a Electric BOV replacement (using a Turbosmart RaceGate)
You can indeed just remove the hoses also on the W205 , won't solve the leaking problems with the electronic plastic system though.

I only took the hoses off, the plastic system is still in tact. They pop out like antlers.

Suggest you remove them entirely. Eliminate the Risk of debris and water falling into the hoses.
