I recently sold my 2017, 63s. I’ve been looking for a while and was afraid I wasn’t gonna find one until I stumbled across this on a random phone call while on a business trip. 2020 with 1700 miles, sold.
Obviously a great upgrade all the way across the board except for one thing. It’s been discussed here at length but I can’t get over not having that pop and cracking sound while downshifting and that pure clean raw AMG sound.
My question is if I get the RenTech is the essentially the same as driving the car in Sport+ with the exhaust on?
or, does it bring back the 2017 sound and that raw pop?
Can’t comment on the Renntech but if you get this car, the stickers got to go. I’m not a big fan of the darken taillights either, they’re way too dark.
Reminds me those old GTO covers on taillights back in the day.

Aside from the 9 speed trans there is no benefit getting a fc. You can add the newer grill and having shorter gears will only spin the tires easier when tuned.
the fancy 700 stage traction control is a joke also I just shut mine off when I want to go sideways.

I did purchase it, I’m 50/50 on the stickers. Everyone loves them, me? Ehh
ill say this, in person looks much better than in photos.
Again, I’m not a fan of the smoked lights either but in person? Actually looks sleek, mean, and really good. I tried to polish them yesterday to make them pop a little more
If you want a similar sound as the PFL start with removing the secondary cats (any muffler shop should be able to do this for you). If you want something even louder then I’d suggest going with modalwork catted downpipes along with a tune (without added burble) or a spacer to avoid CEL.

Now if we can work on getting rid of those German flag colors on the side there, that would be good. Also the taillights need to be less dark. Overall yes happy 😊 but… could be happier 😆

Pretty sure the smaller turbo rumor has been debunked. If you read the thread you linked to ZAC motor sports said they measured both and there’s is no difference. Renntech also confirmed to me they are the same size. Someone correct me if I’m wrong

Congrats on the FL. it looks way, way better without those tacky stickers. I’d remove the remaining flag color stripes as well and return the tail lights to stock.
I have the FL but I’ve test driven a few PFL’s. The sound is definitely a major plus in the PFL but the FL just feels like a smother ride. From everything I’ve read, the only way to come close to replicating the PFL sound is what’s been stated above, catless downpipes and a tune. But as yours is a 2020, do you really want to risk voiding your warranty for better sound? I thought about it as well, and it’s just not worth it to me.
