I received the email from MB below regarding a $99 map update to be done by 12/31. I haven't updated my map since the car was new (barely drive it and only have 20k miles). Does anyone know if this update will be the latest 2021+ map update? I'm getting conflicting messages from these two threads below on whether it can or can't be updated. THANKS IN ADVANCE!
Given the time this would be the 2021/22 update, but you'll be at the mercy of your dealership knowing what they do. Seems like some dealerships don't know what they are doing. Typically map updates come out twice a year, so this is about the time for the second update, and I'm guessing we FL owners are about to get the OTA update. Fortunately, don't have to go visit a dealership anymore just to update the maps.
BTW, map updates were free for the first three years of your ownership.

Of course not. It's just a nav database update. Has nothing to do with the engine etc. However, if you bring in your car and it's due for other updates, then they may install those as well.
Good - thought it was in some kind of package where several updates are bundled together by a dealer. I just had a GPS locator software update TSB completed this week and I specifically asked my SA to make sure no other updates were done. No changes to the sound after
