Misfire of 7 and 8
All of a sudden the car starts to shake and vibrate. When I got home i Did a quick scan and found a misfire from cylinders 7 and 8.
Left the car in the garage for 1 week. Turned it on the day before I was supposed to bring to the mechanic and car ran fine. The day of, was still ok. Mechanic scanned and confirmed a misfire on 7-8. He said let's clear the code to see if it happens again we order parts to fix. A few minutes later started to misfire again.
car is. 2019 C63S AMG. 47,000km.
Anyone had this happen? If so, was it the plugs or the coil?
It's a known and common issue and if I remember correctly there was a bulletin/recall for this.

If you're lucky it's bad gas.

. SA said it covered under MB Extended warranty for ignition coils 15 years or 150,000 miles. Believe they also replaced the 2 spark plugs for 5 and 6.
.
* side note: a few weeks earlier had 5th year Service which includes Spark plug change completed at Dealership. Wonder if plugs were I correctly installed?
But here is the invoice what step by step was completed to ensure it was the coils.

As said above, the coil packs are a known issue and at least here in the USA, they extended the warranty to 15 years or 150,000 miles. Warranty extensions are a regional matter, so not sure if it applies to AUS as well. They should swap the coils from cylinder 7 and 8 with two others to see if the misfires then happen in the cylinders they swapped the coils to to see if it's the coils or something else. This is standard procedure for diagnosing bad coils.

To take the guesswork out, bring your car to Allen at International Autohaus in Rockdale. That's my tuner he's the most experienced with these cars, the cheapest and doesn't cheat you like other places. I've tried them all, you name it.
Been taking my car to him for years and he's even done a lot of things without charge. He'll get you the coil pack(s) much cheaper just get him to sort it out 👍
You can email him allen@internationalautohaus.com.au or give the shop a ring tomorrow 02 9519 3166

Thanks for helping OP!

We need more Australians (especially Mercedes owners) to get on the forums 😂
Yes thanks for the great advise guys. It's been extremely helpful.
I have good mechanic. If I have any problems though I'll go see your mate. Looks like a good guy.
I'm over in the south east of Sydney so it's pretty close.
