Would you choose a 911 turbo or this CL600 Lorinser? And is this a good price?
I really want a car that is a head turner and will stay in style as long as possible. The 2007 turbos are not much different from the current porsche turbos as far as exterior styling goes. However, the 2007 CL will be quite a bit different looking.
But, what do you think about the look of it and the price he is asking?

Granted, I love my C43 to death but the only reason I have it is because I'm 23 and can't come close to affording a real porsche.
Go with the 911 hands down.
Almost all commented the word "classy" when it came to the MB. The phrase "mid-life crises" came up often when they talked about the 911...
They all love the CL, a few of the younger ones thought the Porsche was more "cool", but those same ones, shown an Imola orange Acura NSX, thought the Acura was even cooler than the 911.
Most commented that the 911 was "common".... and most, surprisingly, couldn't differentiate much between a standard Carrera and a Turbo.
When asked which car they preffered to be picked up in, 10 of the 12 said "the CL". Two said they thought the 911 would be "more fun". They felt the CL was understated but said volumes about its owner, and that the 911 was more a "showoff" vehicle.
None saw a Lorinser CL, but I can tell you... most won't even see the difference and the ones that do will either not care or think its ugly. The line of thought will be that it is "fake". If that kit is pleasing to you, know that it's a guy thing.
Anyway, I am not telling you to go one way or the other.. I love both cars. I am just telling you this was my "research" and these were my findings.
This is what I do on my off time... "research"...

As for those such purists, they don't have a leg to stand on, as MB is nonetheless a production car, albeit an upscale luxury production car, but an assembly-line production car no less, and as such, purity doesn't apply here and is entirely meaningless. If we're talking collector-status classic Ferrari, Lambo, Bentley, RR, or even Benz, well then, that's an entirely different pedigree of automobile wherein purity is justified along with exclusivity, and slapping on a kit would be altogether declasse.
In a word, if the price is right, go for it. Let the previous owner take the hit on the kit's depreciation and you get it for a song; and that's exactly what I did when I snagged mine, wherein the previous owner goes through body shop hell and major bank account-siphoning, painstakingly adding a $20,000 aero kit which depreciated to pennies on the dollar when my time came to get behind the wheel. Better him than me to take it in the shorts! The beauty of it is that only I know that! It still has a $20,000 body kit on it and that's all anyone has to know.
A Porsche doesn't hold a candle to a tricked-out CL. Unless it's a Carrerra GT or Gemballa, Porsches have been out of the game for me since the fall of the slant-nose, but I'm far from being any kind of Porsche fan to begin with, so that's just me. And who cares about the HP difference; only you and your mechanic knows. Furthermore, with the 2003 tail lamps that I see were upgraded on this car, again, unless you tell anyone else or an insider peeks inside and sees the pre-03 nav, only the two of you will know it's an 02.
So, to hell with the "purists". Go for what makes your heart pound fast when you glance at its badass reflection off all the stock CLs you drive next to!

IMO it will turn way more heads than a twin turbo unless its got some flashy wheels, etc.
FWIW the CL would be a bettter daily/comfortable driver as well
We're talking lorinser who taylors specifically to MB just as AMG and brabus does.
