what is this fluid under my car....??

apparently when i park and come back there is some liquid on the pavement under my car...it is almost like water mixed in with oil (not from ac)...the car operates fine and no messages come up...what can this be? is this normal for the car to sort of drop a little fluid after you use it or should i bring it in to the shop...?

blahz, could it be a suspension leak (ABC pump)? i know that our cars cannot sense this until a lot of it leaks out. more importantly, where are the car wash honeys? they never came by on saturday..

I wonder if what you're seeing is the water that is condensate from the A/C system.

If this was oil, it wouldn't dry up. There would still be a puddle remaining on a (presumed to be) concrete garage floor. The ABC system uses a special hydraulic oil, so it would probably remain on the floor w/o drying up.

Even on a cooler day, I notice my car will produce water condensing from the A/C when I park it, or even in the driveway when I pull up waiting for the garage door to open.

I usually leave my A/C on automatic @ 72*, so most of the while driving during daytime, the compressor turns on. It seems that MB cars do condense quite a bit, compared to my older car's R-12 A/C system.

Since the mid-90's cars use R-134a refrigerant and larger A/C evaporators and condensers to overcome the lower BTU output of this newer refrigerant.

I'd bet your windshield washer fluid is leaking around the tubes to the headlights. Check the hose connection where it meets the back underside of the headlight.

i often thought my windshield washer tank was leaking but mercedes have told me it wasnt....would that look like oil in the leak though> or maybe dirt mixed into the water at least because its not clear liquid..
