Abrupt engine cut at 6000 rpm - WTF?
'01 CL600
Is this normal? Is it adjustable? Does it have to be so abrupt?
I have new motorized exhaust dumps just below the engine, and am loving the howl - but 6000 comes pretty quick in first and second, and it just abruptly "dies" until the rpm drops.
So - normal? I assumed it would be more of a "limiter" not a "cut".
My shop says the fuel filter is the correct one for the CL600 - I've read that the V8 filters have a limiting regulator?
Any advice or experience appreciated

OK, I see several varieties for purchase; got a favorite you can recommend? The one with the best instructions / support?
Thanks

I'm pretty sure 6000 is the RPM limit on the car, so it's normal within reason. How much does it have to drop for it to come back on?
The turbo cars are limited to 5800 rpms stock, these aren't high rpm setups.

It drops a couple hundred, but in that instant I've let off, so I don't really know. Need to experiment!
Need to make and post a vid with the exhaust dumps - it does sound sweet.

just find a guy who makes mufflers from tube, my size
i'f tested it all
my sound is like a Brabus, really, spending thousands is a muffler is wasting your money on this amazing engine
I would need to record but the stupid Iphone is noise canceling
I'll try to find a solution

My V-12 exhaust cutouts
Here's my setup - I have a full Brabus exhaust, but it's far too quiet for those times you aim to misbehave.
Control is via a little chrome wireless remote on my keychain -

I was looking for full open valves but I have such a great sound that since I removed the Cats i'm fine
you are too quit because you used V8 non turbo mufflers
and you still have cats ?
what you can do is open up those brabus mufflers and remove the fiber
