CL600 to SL65 AMG Black Power steering pump

Will the power steering pump from the AMG Black SL65 fit the 5.5 liter CL600? That would completely eliminate the ABC pump. I've found a pump for sale, but don't want to get it, if it wont work

In theory it should (it fits a V12 that doesn't have ABC), but I haven't seen the black series pump in person. Got pictures?

You made me curious. This is the p/s pump replacement doc specific to the black series SL65. It looks like it has brackets on the pump to adapt to the V12 mounts. This is probably what you need for an ABC delete on any car. If your pump is not including those brackets, it won't help. I'm still looking into it but I'd bet the pump, without the brackets, is the same as the V8 p/s pump

I see two brackets, A0004663140 and A0004663240 that are shown for only the P99 option (Black series) cars. I feel that those are the adaptor brackets to make the pump fit the v12.

It has a different pulley too, I'm guessing the non-abc car doesn't use the 7 rib belt? Or maybe it's just smaller.

If you get a bare pump like that, you will be missing the brackets I posted, and the smaller pulley (although, I'd assume the 7 rib will probably bolt on ok).

All black series pulleys and the belt have a model specific designation, so it looks like it's a smaller or different belt.

I'm fairly certain if you get the brackets I posted, which the SL65BS uses, you can run the regular v8 pump and mount it to the v12, use the 6 rib belt and off you go.

3rd post, check the link, it shows pictures of the brackets, and I posted part #'s.

Our belt is 7 rib no? Or ours is 6 and conventional is 5, maybe that's my mistake. I know the V12 belt is one rib wider than the non-abc cars. Haven't checked on an ABC V8 car.

SL65BS = SL65 Black Series
