C215 windows hitting the rubber trim

Hi

I could do with some advice.....my 2006 CL 500 windows are hitting the rubber trim when i close the doors.....they don't drop far enough on either side...

all 4 windows do there thing but the front windows just don't drop quick enough to get out of the way of the trim when i open the doors or low enough to miss the trim when i close the doors...

yes i have had the batterie off but i still cant reset them if that is the problem...

any help would be welcome.

Resetting the windows is usually what you do when the battery has been disconnected and you need to restore the one push facility to open the front and rear windows and to close the front ones.

Usually the windows do not need to be reset to clear the rubber trim when opening/closing the doors after a battery disconnect...so not sure how to help.

I ask him this because the reset can be done with or without Xentry Diag

without:
serie is LF window then RF then RR then LR
push the windows button all down and hold it for a few seconds more (3-4)
then the same with all other windows in the serie as showed above
done

but it looks more like a soft-close problem

There are many choices for DAS/Xentry Diagnostics for MB.
Ensure you have the right information before getting one. There is too much misleading info.

Hi.....

I will give it a go.....the soft close works very well i think???? it pulls the door in nicely on both sides.....

the windows only drop about half the distance they need to drop to clear the rubber trim.

and when i open the door its as if there is a minor delay ....meaning the window hits the rubber on the way open as well...

Thanks guys

On both of my 2001 CL500s the rubber folds inwards - and when you close the door the window glass pushes the rubber between the glass and the body..Is that your issue ? This seems to be a very common problem on the CL models - probably because there is no window frame

Yes ...the glass hits the outer edge of the rubber and when the glass lifts it folds the rubber into the grove.....the problem being that bit by bit it is degrading the rubber trim and little bits are braking off ..
