Does your vehicle have the bluetooth puck installed in the armrest glove compartment? If it is not there, search google for "mercedes benz cell phone puck"

i do not have the dongle. do i need it? i saw used ones on ebay - would that work?
i also dont have any cradle for anything in the center armrest compartment - would that be necessary to have the dongle work?

Well what happened? Did you get it? Pairing the phone is a pain in the butt. Pair to the puck, then the system... Oh by the way the new Samsung S8 still will not work with many cars. Waiting on an update to fix.......still waiting..........

Good decision Had S4 really liked it
MB dealership (several issues) claim ignorance of the issue (no fix) and Samsung "authorized" repair shop could not sync despite strong 3-4 bar Bluetooth connection
IPhone seamless but do not like phone
Thanks for the tip on the S8[/SIZE]

I would buy the puck and enjoy the feature of your phone pairing automatically when you get in the car. I cant wait for Samsung to release an update for my S8 so it will work Bluetooth already. My phone pairs but wont connect when you go to use the phone. This is an issue with Samsung's new Bluetooth 5 that is suppose to have all these capabilities, but dosnt work in anyone's car.
A $100 purchase isnt a big deal and if your concerned with getting your money back you can always sell it later on eBay or Craig's List. I know one thing for sure I would rather have it working than not. Someone calls while you are driving and their caller ID shows up in your dash Command Center and you simply answer the call with the buttons on the steering wheel. No reaching for the phone, jumbling around to hit a button on the phone, crashing your car because you got distracted.... The music your playing automatically mutes when a call comes in and you answer and talk. When your done the music comes back on automatically. If you drive an 07 CL you want to buy the long thin silver puck. There is also a shorter fatter model that I think will work too but the one that comes with the car factory is the long thin model. When you want to pair it you push the Mercedes symbol on the puck and the blue lights begin to flash and its ready to pair. Use either 0000 or 1234 as the pairing code. Sometimes takes me 10 to 15 mins to get it all set up because the pairing method is a little different from most YouTube videos. I should make my own YT video just for early CL models. Buy the damn puck I promise you will be happy you did. It slides and locks into place and that's it. Suddenly you have Bluetooth. CL's only allow phone audio, MB didnt allow for music streaming. Which sucks but what the hell I have a DVD I burned in my changer with over 2 gigs of music on it. Like Mercedes says "The best or nothing at all".

ok. i bought the puck and installed it. spent a frustrating hour not being able to pair it with my phone so i took it to the dealer and a tech there did it.
so it works ! great !
except it sucks.
it will not recognize any voice command to call somebody, i cant seem to hang up, and the sound quality is **** poor for a car of this value.
my old earphones are far better.
