My freind in the business called me last week and asked me if I wanted to give him a deposit for a cl65, He said mb just confirmed it with them next summer for delivery for these cars ???
I just don't know who to believe, But there was a spy foto in automotive news this week as well. That's a trade publication So maybe he's telling the trueth,In any case I am not sure if I'm interested in spending $140,000 to $150,000 that he quoted me. Anyone else have any better info.......

I am with awiner on this one, I have not heard any mention of the CL65 making it onto the US shores! I think the guy my be trying to import some Euro. spec. car and convert them, but they will not be true US spec vehicles.

According to an MB rep last I heard there are no current plans to bring the CL65 to the US. HOWEVER he mentioned that if there is enough demand they will definetly bring them in.

READ: Puts LOTS of pressure on your dealers and tell them to talk to MBUSA. MBUSA is just worried about a lack of demand, thats why there are so few Designo options stateside.

I get Automotive News since I am in the auto business. The funny thing about the picture of the mb was that the caption said SL65. But the with all the disguise on the car, you can clearly tell it was not the SL. It look more like a S65 than an SL65. It stated 615 or so HP and 723 torque. (excuse me if I am slightly off on the numbers - don't quite remember)

I have heard from someone inside MB that the CL65 will come to the US, as I reported in a post a month or so ago. There has, of course, been no official announcement. My guess is that with the Bentley Continential GT coming in the fall, there will be an incentive for MBUSA to offer the CL65 here. The Germancarfan site had a long article with pictures of the CL65 some time ago. The CL55 is a supercar, IMO, and the performance advantages of either the Bentley GT or the CL65 will likely not be significant, but for those who want the ultimate, the demand is often met. BTW, the Euro may force much higher dollar prices of these already high-end models, but at those price points it makes little difference to the vast majority of potential buyers of these types of automobiles.

i just read that the cl65 has to use 94 octane gas to get the full power out of it and that it might not come to the u.s.

If I recall correctly the current CL600 requires 93, higher than the current CL55... and the best we have locally (Seattle) is 92, and that's with methanol.

I can get unleaded 100 at the track at least!
