V12TT exhaust mod question
I've seen/read alot about putting straight pipes in place of the mufflers and even listen to some of the videos its hard to distinguish if its a mod I want to do.
My biggest concern is, will it sound stock in idling/cruising 70mph on the free way? Last thing I want is to ruin the luxury this car provides but I would to hear a little noise when I get on the loud pedal

I have done the straight pipe mod on my car and yes, if the stereo is off you can hear the exhaust at idle or on the highway, but just barely. Behind the car it is loud, but inside it is just audible, even with the sunroof or windows open. If you have the stereo on at a low listening volume the exhaust sound is almost inaudible and you will not have to speak up to converse over the exhaust sound.

Do it man. You need videos let me know. #1 mod for the V12 TT. Car sounds awesome at idle on highway sounds like a jet and from the dig sounds like "WTF" in a good way. I got my mufflers deleted and catless downpipes

With cats and resonators on, it sounds mean but pretty quiet at cruise/idle.

I've watched a couple videos of muffler deletes on a V12TT but it's hard to tell without listening to one in person.
Would you suggest keeping the muffler incase I want to weld it back to go stock? Not sure how feasible this would be after putting straight pipes.

If you want to know how it will sound, just listen to the car with them in place, have a muffler shop cut the mufflers off and fire it up and listen to it. You can even take ity for a drive like that. You will hear a greater increase in sound in the car with the exhaust ending under the car than once the pipe is added, but it is a lot easier for them to put it back on then than it will be after they add a pipe. Most of us who do this mod reuse our tips to keep the stock look.
On my car the previous owner had some exhaust work done and a muffler shop put a small section of crush bent 2.5" pipe ahead of the mufflers. I planned to cut that out to remove the restriction, but once I fired it up with no mufflers I went ahead and built Y-pipes and deleted the mufflers completely while reusing the stock tips.

It has been decades since I owned a muffler shop, I just "borrowed" a buddys shop to do mine so I do not know what they would charge. Given the custom fabrication to reuse the origonal tips I would expect it to be around $150. If you just want a straight single pipe in place of each stock muffler I would guess about $40-50.

Will deleting the resonators be a valid alternative to increase a bit the sound, rather than deleting end mufflers (on a CL55)?
I've seen vids with res del but none is showing how loud/quiet (or if there's a drone effect) is inside the cabin when cruising on highways at, say, 80-90mph (european highway cruising speed, abt 130-140km/h).
Deleting mufflers is not an option here, sound restrictions are enforced...

Does the OP want sound or performance? The catless downpipes will add performance and sound but will cost more. The muffler delete will add sound with minimal performance gains. From what I have heard, the combo of both is too much noise with some drone. It has to be heard in person since it only sounds louder with audio files. Everyone has their preference.

I don't want performance just sound. To complicate things, I noticed there are three options with the exhaust:
1) muffler delete only
2) resonator delete only
3) resonator and muffler delete
Not sure which route to go? I want it to sound stock as possible at idling/cruising highway but when I get on the loud pedal I want to hear the women/children scream LOL

I'm not sure about the 600's, but the 65's do not have resonators so you can delete the mufflers, cats, or both.
Deleting the mufflers makes the exhaust audible, but not at all loud in the car, is emissions legal, cheap, does not require tuning, mil eliminators, or any other mod to compensate for it. It is a sound mod only, not a performance mod, but not loud enugh to make anyone scream in terror.
Deleting cats may add power and throttle response, but it is more expensive, will throw a CEL without a tune &/or MIL eliminators, is not emissions legal, makes your exhaust smell like an old car, & may cause an anoying drone on the highway.
