My ABC sprung a leak from the line that goes to the pump to about 3 feel then ends. Has anyone removed the double banjo bolt and just gotten rid of the line? I am not sure if MB uses it as a pulse damper or something.
Mine did too.
Its a pump pulsation dampener.
You can't get rid of it.
Seems like an afterthought; later models had a nitrogen sphere on the pump itself.

....too late now. I cut down the banjo bolt. I may replace it at sometime though. It makes the actual feed line a little more short then I would like and its pulling on it. Thing is a pain though to get back on. I am discharging the AC right now so I can remove that line that is in the way. Tried loosening the motor mounts and everything. Stuff is just so crammed in these cars!!

Access sucks. You could try moving the lower diagonal suspension arm, carefully move the plastic cover and get some access through the hole vacated by the suspension arm mounting. Top left hand corner in this picture:

Alternatively support the engine and lower the subframe six inches at the front. This is what you see - the ABC pump banjo is to the left of centre.

I think I still have an extra stock long banjo bolt if you decide to go back to using both hoses.

i'm not sure from the picture. can someone more definitively show me what the banjo bolt looks like and are they available from mercedes?

The "Banjo bolt" is just the hollow bolt with holes in it that holds the two lines to the pump and the far end of the main pressure hose to the distribution block. The type of fittings are called Banjo fittings and hence the name of the bolt that holds them to the pump/block. I have a spare as the new main pressure hose that I replaced with a new stock part came with a new bolt & O-rings. I do not know if the bolt is available separately.

so how exactly did you do this? did removing the a/c solve the access problem, or did you find an easier way?
I did have to remove the AC line to do the work. Just made it easier.
