A220 Transmission noise when downshifting
I took it back to the dealer and after a week it was returned with the same problem. The dealer explained there were no codes and stated this is customary for the 7 speed transmission in this model. I spoke to MB customer support to document the problem. They suggested I take the car to a different dealer which I plan to do as soon as possible.
I will appreciate and comments on experience others have had with this transmission. Thanks
The only way for me to bypass that problem is to just downright floor it in sport mode.....
Your issue, I don't; have any problem downshifting that much. However, I don't have 4MATIC, but I have been in a couple loaners when mine was in the shop and it didn't do it either.

I do not have the problem you describe. I have a very slight delay (1 second or so) in acceleration when starting out but otherwise up shifts are very smooth and fast.
WHen using shift paddles when moving steady its slow but when going harder or in auto mode S its faster
Hi Brewman, please tell me you have your problem fixed. I took mine to the dealer 4 times...1 second delay when taking off from a complete stop. They are still not able to find the issue and can’t recreate it. They claim they don’t do anything to my car but the delay problem goes away when I send the car in. But it always come back eventually, two weeks later. I’m losing all my hair over this.

so did you ever get this fixed, or at the very least find out why it is happening? I am having the same problem in my 2020, 19k miles. It isn’t bothersome per day, but I don’t want something to be wrong.

I found that thinking of it as a manual transmission driven by a robot is useful. That is to say, apply starting throttle as you would on starting out releasing the clutch on a manual.
