Installed DVD player
Just had an Eclipse AVX2494 installed recently. It's a 2-din chassis (instead of flip up monitor) which works well in the W208 dash. Also has a 20 GB hard drive - it automatically converts and records audio tracks from CDs, and MP3s can be copied with a memory stick.

nice...how much was install? i am getting mine done here locally ...they are charging $700 for install of the eclipse nav, 2 amps, false trunk panel, and component speakers....does that sound about right?

How about posting another picture of the entire console so we can all see how it looks installed.
I am thinking about going with a Euro system from SteveNL but your setup my change my mind. I would really miss using the steering wheel controls though.

Here's another picture...
The Eclipse won't work with the stock amp or front speakers. If you install it in the lower location (which looks cleanest IMO), you'll also need to move the shifter to access the disc and/or memory stick. It also has NAV, but it doesn't work here in Hawaii. I don't have the steering wheel controls on my '99, so that wasn't a consideration. The unit cost $1600 and the install with new front Eclipse co-axial speakers was another $400 or so.

Trust me, you can't get lost on Maui
I've heard that some NAVs work in HI, but it's limited. You'll also find that satellite TV and radio is pretty worthless here, too. I think it has to do with our remote location and poor alignment with various satellites.
