Extended Warranty
I have a 2002 CLK 430 and I live around Seattle area. My car warranty is almost due and I have been shopping around for extended warranty companies. I came across 3 companies and they are:
1. Ultimate Warranty Corp
2. Nationwide Premier
3. American Guardian
I listed from the cheapest to the most expensive one. The last 2 companies were recommended by Mercedes Benz dealer and that's probably why they are damn expensive. Just for comparison, if I go for an extra 5 year / 100,000 odometer miles, I have to pay $2,195, $3,395, $3,699 for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd company respectively. The coverages vary within each company and the way they word the policy is really tricky. I was wondering if anyone has ever dealt with any of these three companies or if you could recommend a good and reliable extended warranty company. I really appreaciate any helps.
Thanks,
Solihin
1) not paying repair bills
2) going out of business leaving the customer holding the bag
(For Example do a google search on "Warranty Gold" - many people lost on this warranty company)
I would hate to hear about that happening to a MBWorld memeber. That being said, I would point you in the direction of more reputable warranty companies.
1) Warranty Direct
2) 1sourceWarranty
I have personally use both of these companies and have never had any issues using them. They have the backing and do not maintain money offshore like some of these not so reputable companies.
My suggestion, Take a look into these two companies before making your final decision.
Good luck!
but, if you think you are going to keep your car past the warranty period, do yourself a favor and just buy the Mercedes Factory limited ext warranty.... you have to do this within the 1st of ownership and must be the original owner/buyer of the car...
and, if you change your mind about keeping the car.... no worries there either... you can request a refund for the unused portion of the extended warranty.. if your factory limited warranty is still in play, then you get a FULL refund... how sweet is that...
good luck, but, i like warranty direct as well for aftermarket warranty
He has submitted it for repairs twice and has been very satisfied with them so far.
Make sure you get the highest level (Platinum/Gold) or whatever the highest tier package is offerred to ensure you cover all the MB options not found on a regular automobile.
And make sure you do it as soon as poosible because the more mileage accumulated on the car when you sign up ... the higher your premium will cost you.
Her prices seem to be the best and the coverage seems to be excellent.
Also, anyone have experience with the Millennium Automotive Protection Plan. My local MB dealership is offering this.
Thanks for your assistance in advance!

I bought my warranty one month prior original expires, and received packet 3 month later, it does take a long time.

Lisa mentioned a 3 year/total 100,000 mile warranty and a 5 yr/addtl 50,000 warranty. I'm hoping to get the fax soon.
Here's one quote from someone else (seems high):
$3,000 = 4yr/100k mi/$100 deductible
$2,700 = 4yr/100k mi/$200 deductible
$2,800 = 3yr/100k mi/$100 deductible
$2,500 = 3yr/100k mi/$200 deductible
$3,200 = 5yr/100k mi/$100 deductible
$2,900 = 5yr/100k mi/$200 deductible
$3,400 = 6yr/100k mi/$100 deductible
$3,100 = 6yr/100k mi/$200 deductible
Is there a reason why the $200 deductible is not the way to go?

AA Auto warranty.
Funny thing is, at first the dealer told me it wasn't covered unless the a/c stopped working and they wouldn't warranty the buttons. I called the warranty company myself and they told me otherwise. My suspicion is the dealer didn't even call the warranty company at all (lazy *******s) but it's fixed now at least.
I am in search of a good warranty. The MB Dealer warranty offered to me was 6 yr/100K miles for 3,737 for the same coverage I have now/when purchased. I spoke with Warranty Direct and they were slightly cheaper but when I told them that I had aftermarket wheels and was planning on installing new AM exhaust, they said my warranty would be void. I asked if it would only be portions of it and they said no. All of it. This makes no sense to me, however, it could have been the gal had no clue about her job, or it could be that they are that bad/strict. Does anyone know if any of these other warranties pose any similar issues?
Cheers,
