HTR+ horrible handling!! Installed wrong??!
Just got the Sumitomos HTR+'s installed and the car handles like SH@T!!!
Take a look at these, I think the passenger tire is on backwards... Can someone confirm??
(PASSENGER)
(DRIVER)

if the tires are directional tires... based on the thread layout, they are installed properly
what would be on the outside on the driver's side would be on the inside of the passenger side... and vice versa...
there should be arrows on the sidewall depicting proper directional rotation if you want to confirm....
handling like *****, well, maybe the tire just isn't that good...

this tire's tread pattern looks the same no matter which way you flip it, so, i don't think it could have been installed wrong...

depends on the weather
the HTR+ is a symetrical tire by design and there is no way to install it incorrectly ...
your poor handling comment can be attributed to your decision to buy one of the least expensive tires available for your CLK .... there are reasons some tires cost more than others

Ok - It feels as if i have replaced a rear sway bar or something like that... the back end is squishy compared to the front which still has the Pilot sports on. The tires don't lose traction but feel like they have a high and soft sidewall (sway affect). I pumped the air psi up to 40psi cold to see if this would stiffen them up a bit... but it did not work. the tires say Max inflation is 51psi... should I take them up to 46psi cold and see what the result is??

***EDIT***
The customer reviews of this tire look horrible. There's even one review from a guy with a CLK430.

i wouldn't push the threshold of what the max psi rating will allow... too much air is just as bad as not enough air...

In an effort to give them the longest storage life possible, new tires have an antioxidant coating. Testing the grip levels before the coating is worn off is an exercise in futility. That’s why street tires typically have a break in period. In the auto world, the break in period is universally ignored, but in the sportbike world, those who don't know about it have been known to scuff their leathers.
All-season performance tires cannot be compared to performance summer tires. They are worlds apart in grip. What tires are these replacing?
What tire pressures are you running and how did you decide to use them?

trying to compare an entry level high performance all season tire to the Pilot Sport ..... the sidewall deflection rate is much higher in the HTR+ .... that's a fact and the reason you are experiencing the swaying feeling

he's replacing Michelin Pilot Sports, which are a Max performance tire, vs. the HTR+ which is a performance all-season tire... so yeah, not an apples to apples comparison

Hmm, how do Pirelli P-zero Nero M+S stack up? I bought them for fairly cheap but am still getting some understeer with Koni shocks on medium stiffness all around and H&R springs.

Compared to other performance tires, they have a very soft sidewall. Good grip in the wet and dry, but when taking them to their limits, the all season nature is revealed. But great tread life, good noise levels, comfort levels (soft sidewall) and all season performance.
