Did I do Ok on my purchase

I just bought and am awaiting delivery of a 2001 CLK430. All with K2, K3, K4 Packages. No GPS.

15K Miles.

I paid 45,000

I would like to hear feedback regarding this, as a local car dealer that I do business with, told me he has a sale for it at 50K, if I feel like flipping the car and making a few bucks.

Thanks

In February, I got mine with 6000 miles, extended warranty to 100,000 miles, same options: $52,000. I'd say you did roughly the same.

Flip it.

You do not have the bells & whistles unless you have the COMMAND GPS option.

That's a dinosaur!

Try getting out of a new multiple story parking garage in an unfamiliar neighborhood. U R totally disoriented - at night and map quest is as helpful as...

Command GPS is REAL-TIME interaction. It guides you to your destination via a moving map with your exact position, within a few feet.

You adjust the various scales, voice commands and sophisticated arrows symbols. Command calculates how far you are from your destination and will tell you at any moment your arrival time.

One simply must experience it to appreciate the Command GSP. I only scrached the surface of the features/applications that this state of the art technology provides. Additionaly, it integrates your CDs, Radio, Audio adjustments, etc.

Thank you MB for this option - I can't live without!

2004 S500 4MATIC AMG SPORT PKG. - 2002 RANGE ROVER
Question Are you all kidding me?

First - How many of you actually use COMAND GPS every day.
I have mine in my Range Rover which I never need to use, because I lived in this area long enough to know where I am going.

As far as when I am in my CLK, is it really worth the cost of this option, when you can't add other cool options (DVD, PS2) to this useless display.

With all that said, we are getting the COMAND as standard feature in our G500 in January 2002, I think it will be useful for my wife, who happens to call me everytime on her cell for directions

Now she'll call you to ask how to use it

G 500 - Gelaendewagen - just arrived here in S. Florida.

Totally impractical unless you own a gas station: 12-14 mpg - a true guzzler.

It's great for the Tora Bora and Austrian Alps where Kelley Blue book tested the Gelaendewagen.
But, it is a fine example of hand-built rugged craftsmanship, pulling 3 1/2 tons.

I lived in Northern VA - Reston - for many years. Wish I had had the Command GPS then. Particularly around this time, - a lot of parties to attend in many unfamiliar neighborhoods, - with Command GSP it would have been EFFORTLESS.

Although Comand is a great user/owner function it doesnt bring any extra $$ to the table on a dealer trade. Granted a private party may offer more for it- but when I have looked into the value of my car at a MBZ dealer the Sales Managers (who I know personally) said the Comand wont give any added value in trade-in allowance. This was a California dealer so it may differ over the U.S.

Granted you won't use your COMAND every day, but it has been a life saver 4-5 times (so far) for me. It's those times when you feel like the COMAND was a good purchase.
