Problem: Windows reopen after closing with express-up feature

Anyone else have this problem? What was the fix?

I've heard that there is a service bulletin out for this.

Thanks,
David

yup, i had the same prob. take it to the dealer, they know about that problem. they replaced the ,motor on mine. at first, my service advisor(calstar motors in glendale CA) tried to convinced me that the reason the window would come back down again was because i had tinted windows. after seeing that he was about to get biitch slapped for saying that he said " ahhh, i think there is a buletin for that". i said u better recognize punk.

This is not an uncommon problem, had it happen with a clients CLK55 AMG back in June of last year. They had to replace motor as well, but the client was not happy that it happened while driving through a car wash!!!! Needless to say he was not pleased that his $750 breifcase was ruined!!!

Funny, that is [the carwash incident] the same thing that happened to me in my 55. I managed to put it up before too much water got in, though. Good thing I was paying attention.

Does it only go down a few inches after it hits the top? If so do a search in this forum and you'll find the fix. I've had to do it once before and it's been fine since, but I don't remember exactly what I did.

My dealer (San Diego MB) fixed mine by connecting a laptop to the car and adjusting the "stop" point. I'm pretty disappointed that they didn't replace the window's control unit because a few months later I have the same problem and have to return to the dealer again. This time I'll take the car in and expect them to replace both control units. Can you imagine having your warrantee run out and then having this problem? They'd charge $3000 to fix it.

same window problem with my sister's 2000 CLK320, my brother's friend's 02 CLK320 and my friend's 01 CLK55. all of them are the driver side window. the passenger side has no problem. all three cars replaced the motor control unit and only the 55 was fixed. the problem still exist on my sister's 320 and my bro's friend's 320.

another thing i notice is that the problem is more appearant after the car was parked under the sun for awhile. during the night or anytime that the car is cold, the window works fine.

windows fix.

my dealer told me to hold the window button up for 2-3 seconds after the windows is closed... this resets the motor/sensor ...

it worked on my 430....?

that's funny thuged_out... I guess this is the way to handle uncooperative MB Service Advisors. I'll try that next time they try to replace my brake pads and they wana charge me.
