Anyone else having premature failures with BA9 5 LED's?

Anyone else having premature failures with BA9 5 LED's?
I was under the impression that LEDs had a very long lifetime. It hasn't been a year and I'm already on my second pair going on the third. Of all 5 of the little leds on each bulb, they don't all seem to fail, just a couple, which makes them blink on and off.

I have had same issue. Worst part is that when one or two of the 5 led's go out on one of my city light led units and the other unit is still burning all five led's then each city light emits at a slightly differet shade of light.
I think the longevity of the five led bulbs on which the led's are set up so that one faces forward and the other four are mounted "in orbit" around the center led pointing outward 90 degrees compared to the center led is affected by the fact that the total diameter of the opening needed to pass that type of bulb through in order to mount it is slightly larger then the diameter of the opening normally associated with a BA9 mount. You can squeeze the "4 in orbit" 5-led bulb through that type of opening, but I think the process damages the led's mounting apparatus and I think this results in a shortened lifespan for the bulb's individual led's.
They're so inexpensive though that I usually order two or three pairs at a time.
Long story...

I shaved down the tips of the 4 LEDs in orbit and it goes thru just fine afterwards, so I'll keep you posted on whether that works or not, cuz by shaving the tips down and having them go thru the housing without any force, I am sure that it doesnt get damaged, unless I damaged it when i was shaving it down?

all i can say is...gotta love those German cars. there's always something. and no matter how expensive they are to fix, i can't seem to stay away from em.
so any idea how quickly they've been going out?

i just used the garage floor to grind it down, sand paper works, its been over 10 months now and some of the LED has gone dead, but enough of them still works...so far so good, but well see how much longer it last
