Smile Xenon H7

Hi all,

I am a new owner of a 2002 CLK 320. I would like to change the headlights, and saw people are selling Xenon H7 bulbs on ebay. Is it ok if I just change the light bulbs? Will it hurt or damage the car? Any suggestion? Thank you.

Those are not really xenon gas capsules, just a name. I would be careful as they tend to get super hot. I melted a harness once.

I just change my original light bulb to xenon H7 yesterday, it's really white in color, but i found that it's not bright enough, it looks pretty good when it's really dark but when there are street light around, it's not bright enough.
But I am satified with it.
Hope this would help you..

Aside from the dealership, where is a good place to get the Xenon capsule replacement bulbs? Price?

your car is spec-ed for about 60 watts on the high beam...plus a little for
insurance. you plug in a 100 watt bulb, nearly doubled. chances are you
will encounter the wiring overheating mentioned earlier. if you were to even
attempt this, i would strongly suggest you fabricate a supplemental wiring
harness, isolated by a relay. fuse the downstream harness as well. so if
it is going to blow, it'll trip the fuse....and/or protect the expensive factory
harness in the process.

thx for your reply, I will wait till i recieve the item first..but kind of afraid to try it on..
the reason why I order this bulb is cuz ..first it's cheap and second the visibility of my current lightbulb isn't enough although the color is good..
thx for your suggestion..!

If only the bulbs will burn out, then I just change it, but I do concern about the wiring and the connector may have problem too. The bulbs are under $10, but may cause you $100+, so maybe looking for those 55W white light bulbs is better. Thank you everyone.

The one you bought is 100W, I think you should get a 55W. According to the user manual, the original bulbs from manufacture are 55W. It sounds a lot better than plugging in those 100W bulbs.

This one is 55W H7 Xenon light.

6000K is the color temp., is it just the brightness of this bulb? Do we need to worry about this number?

There's a thread on this topic somewhere. You'll have to search for it but somebody here went thru the trouble of posting pictures of bulbs with various ratings. The 'K' in 6000K is for kelvin. I believe they give off different colors as the rate goes up but I can't be sure. You'll have to ask somebody (try ThrillKill) for more detail.

don't waste you time and $$$ with those ebay xenon bulbs
because many of them are just junks

they blow out after a few months unless you get the top name brand bulbs like piaa or raybrigs.......but then you will have to pay a lot for them

Go with HID kits.......looks way better

make sure you get the philip hid kits and not one of those MADE IN CHINA stuffs..........good luck

why waste money?

You brought a nice ride...............a Benz

you should not go cheapo with parts like headlight bulbs......

Most of the aftermarket xenon bulbs on ebays are from Asia and they do not last very long.........except for the name brands like Piaa and raybrigs

Just pay a little more for a HID kit and no overheating issue and much brighter light
