Bi-xenon Retrofit
I have the factory HID on my w208 and I'd like to go to a projector setup.
I've read quite a bit on the forums but I'm still not clear as to what is the best course of action in terms of cost effectiveness and outcome.
I thought I could do either of the following:
A) Sell my OEM set-up and purchase a DEPO setup, then purchase the HID conversion (i.e. balasts/bulbs/etc)
OR
B) Retrofit my setup with a set of D2S projectors available used on Ebay.
I think option B would be better because I can use the existing HID wiring and I probably won't get a malfunction code on the OBC.
Here is a set of Mercedes E55 Bi-Xenon projectors I found, but can someone tell me how difficult it would be to retrofit these into my OEM housing? Thanks.

From reading what you had to go through, it seems that it would be easier for me to just purchase the DEPO and put in a projector that accepts D2S bulbs??
You think?

I'm not a big fan of DEPO. After researching on hidplanet, all of the people in the know cited quite a few quality issues. If I were you I would strip out your present setup completely and replace everything with new ballasts, projecters, shrouds and igniters. They will still pull the same amps so you will(should) not get the "bulb out" warning. hidplanet.com is the place to start though...excellent info.
Wish I had the time but as I've said before, it's really a labor of love. Honestly, one wrong turn of the Dremel and you can just throw the housings away. I wouldn't want to take that risk. I'll give you all the help you need though.

Thanks for your response, but I have a couple of more questions:
1) How difficult was retrofitting the TSX projector into the DEPO headlight?
2) Can I use the factory Mercedes balasts and ignighters or will I have to purchase another kit?
3) If so, which HID kit should I get that will not cause an OBC malfunction code to show up?
BTW, your car looks incredible... love the fenders and the quad pipes.

1.... tsx was quite easy because the black style projectors are made by eagle eye which the projectors are alittle smaller inside......now the depo ones you can go with the audi rs6 projectors which are bi-xenon....the shroud should fit the rs6 ones perfect while the tsx fit the eagle eye ones....
2.. yes you can use the factory set-up....i think there ds2 bulbs but not sure..... but if not then go with the denso lexus ones, they are very thin and don't trip any codes....
hope i helped......zam2000(huy) and raymond on here helped me out along the way so they'll know more then me but it's pretty simple......hardest part is to mount the projectors inside.......you gotta do some cuting and what not and then seal them up and you can adjust the level once it's mounted
