H&R Eccentric Bolt Camber Adjuster

H&R makes a TUV certified bolt that adjusts camber. allsprings has listings It retains all OEM suspension parts. More importantly it retains Mercedes ride quality. H&R triple C adjusters $150 and retain smooth ride. I want my car to ride lower but I still want it to feel like a Mercedes. I have H&R springs a Bilstein sports waiting to mount. I saw speedybenz/K-Mac/ebay and figured that was my only option. I didn't want my car to ride any rougher. I'm glad I kept looking

Does this work with the W208 and W209's? That would be great. What is the link.

My tire shop just used their standard camber kit and it worked fine w/ no problems...$80 w/ like 5 or 10 bucks labor. It rides really smooth too and I haven't even upgraded the shocks yet.

Any pics of this H&R kit? And also do you have pictures of your camber kit that your shop put together for you? And also what did they exactly use?

Mercedes-Benz dealers carry a wide array of factory camber bolts. That's what they use to bring the front end into spec on a lowered car. My local dealer charges $100 as a standard alignment rate - less with a Mercedes-Benz Club of America discount (hint-hint).

The H&R's are simply a bolt with an elliptical cam lobe(oval, off center) that that pushes out or pulls in to allow camber adjustment. The bolt is undersized and has a bushing to compensate for smaller diameter. Simple but effective. MB has their own take on this they use for alignment. Other companies like Eibach make a setup with a oval slotted hole mounted to a fixed position and a cam on the outside of the bolt. The Eibach setup are best welded to the suspension and the bushing mounting hole made oval. If done properly its stronger. Google H&R triple c camber bolts to see what they look like. Likewise Eibach.

I don’t know about you guys, but I am industrial strength cheap. For me, one of the worst feelings is to find out I’ve overpaid. For example, I paid way too much for an aftermarket clutch kit some years back. After dropping the trans, and installing the kit, I found out the factory parts, "at full retail from a dealer", were WAY LESS than I paid. Worse yet, I ended up redoing the clutch 2 years later because the POS aftermarket street/strip pressure plate that I installed didn’t hold up. I kept telling myself that since I was also installing a lightweight flywheel with the second factory clutch kit (the new flywheel would allow the car to rev like a sportbike) it was worth redoing the job. No it wasn’t. I got screwed on the first clutch job. By using my MBCA discount I KNOW I'm paying as little as anyone on MB parts.

I highly recommend joining MBCA. Now, if MBUSA only offered headers . . . . . . . or better yet, if I could get an MBCA discount on euro parts.

I called H&R today a got a very lame answer, NO, WE DONT SELL CAMBER ADJUSTERS FOR MB!!! Thats not the answer to give repeat customers. Yes they have elliptical bolts for strut type application.I asked Josh @ H&R why sell suspension systems if YOU CAN'T ADJUST THEM PROPERLY? Josh said; H&R wasn't in the business of selling alignment products. Next time I buy its going to be Eibach or Vogtland, just on principle. Eibach makes camber adjusters and shocks. I'm taking Marcus's advice on MB elliptical bolts. If that doesn't work then I will find a company that sells what H&R can't because I'm not in the business of buying from a company like that any longer.

I thought if you lowered your car.. you had to get new control arms from sources like KMac or SpeedyBenz... to get the camber back to factory specs.

Is this wrong? Is bolt we are talkin about here sold by benz to adjust camber on a lowered vehicle?

Front camber reset works with an eccentric cam bolt replacement. Yes. They are sold by MB. Rear ends replace a locator arm with 1 made to adjust. Unfortunately there are 3 locator bars to set correct camber. Everybody just does one It is as close to perfect we will get with a daily driven OEM suspension. If you have ever ridden in a car with polyurethane bushings you lose ride quality for handling. With just changing 1 locating arm to teflon and the front end remaining OEM you maintain the highest in ride quality. Hope it helps you.
