FINALLY INSTALLED MY CLK55 Airbox w/ Green Filters
I finally was able to get the correct green filters (part #2295 and i hear 2240 works) and was able to install my clk55 airbox...some key things u shud know when installing it that i had a lil bita truble with:
force is key for this install lol....u need to pull to remove the old one...u need to push down when putting on the new one ..make sure the brackets attach onto the little circular rubber things...i was literally punching the airbox to make sure it was on tight onto the "nipples" as freddy liked to call em lol....
also...note that the left hose goes into the slot by the grille, while the right hose goes over the slot next to the grille...took me a lil bit to realize that lol
make sure u have some tin snips or something to make the amendment needed as you can see in the last pic
o ya and if ur changing the filters...u mite have sum truble making sure the screws are in all the way...make sure ur putting good weight down and screwing at the same time to make for a tight seal so air doesnt leak out...
heres some pics..:
old box layin next to new:
swapping out the old amg filters:
naked n exposed engine :-):
fitting on the airbox:
fitting on the hoses:
both hoses on:
engine cover snipped n on:
final product:
hope this helps a bit!

Looks like a plain jane hunk of plastic. The 430 cover looked better, but the real question is............. any noticeable difference?
None of these airboxes make any sense to me. Putting them over a hot engine and making them force warm air into the intake doesn't make sense at all. I've considered making one that runs along each side with a heat shield.

No, I just don't have my head up my *** taking cheap shots at everything non AMG. That's called little ***** syndrome. So now that we all know you can straggle a lifesaver without breaking it, we await more of your condescending, badge whoring, remarks about how awesome how some flat black solid plain piece of plastic is the holy grail because it has your almighty shrine stuck to it.
I have a highly modded Porsche 951 Turbo that'll make that overweight little piggy of yours look like it's driving in reverse, and Lexus that rides quieter over railroad tracks than that double nickel does on fresh pavement.
So you can sit on your badge and worship your discontinued, out of production, overweight piggy "sports coupe" all you want and it will not do anything but provide hours of entertainment for everyone else that owns multiple cars and knows the truth of the matter.
There is nothing wrong with an AMG CLK55, but the idiocy of badge whoring and looking down on someone else's car with your snide attitude acting "HOOD RICH" with your discontinued vehicle is laughable.
The majority of 55 owners are damn good people who respect everyone's vehicles, then there's...... you. Over there worshiping your badge and putting others down.
Feel free to respond all you want, I'm not wasting my night on any more badge whoring ignorance. Nor tomorrow. It's not about the 55, it's all about YOU.
I'll make you a deal though...... Lose 1500 lbs and put 200 more RWHP to the wheels and I'll give you a shot at this sometime.

If you like it brother, rock it. As long as it performs that's all that matters. Like we agree, it is not the more attractive of the two for sure. Props on a successful mod.

wow. you impress me. all you can do is call my car an out of production car, and then post up a pic of a 30 year old VW. LOL.
This isn't about who has more cars. This is about an extremely tasteful mod that another member decided to share and take pics of. This mod has been done by several members who have already posted their dynos, before and after. It is a proven 25-30HP gain.
Now ask anybody who thinks the plastic cover is "plain-jane"..... I don't think you'll get too many people to back you up on your opinion.
So if you want to continue posting pics up of 30 year old cars, be my guest. I don't think you want to go there. Members who know me personally in this forum know what I own.........but I'll give you a little taste of another over-weight TWIN TURBO'ED sports coupe I picked up last month =)
You have been a total waste of my time. I'm done with you and your 200 post count.

1. Air Cleaner p# 113-090-01-01
2. Hose p# 113-090-03-82
3. Hose p# 113-090-02-82
4. Cover Plate 113-010-05-67
5. 4 Brackets 112-094-00-41 (i didnt need these because there were brackets already on the airbox but some people mention them when they mention the necessary parts for the airbox for some reason)
Green filters - i used 2295 and they fit fine...people say 2240 work fine too...do not try any other part numbers though as theres some confusion about the correct one...i personally know 2295 fits...ppl have also said 2240 but thats up to you...only site i found the correct ones for a good price was www.morethantires.com...

Cheaper on Duval Motorcars
Just ordered the 55 intake and found it to be cheaper on Duval Motorcars. I paid 425+ tax.
