Removing rear badges.
Hi guys, what is the best way to remove badges. I want to get rid of the clk430 badge as well as an amg badge someone else added to this car.
Is it as easy as using a hair drier then pulling it off? Will it leave remnants or a faded paint impression? Do I need to have a professional do it?
Thanks,

i used an old id card, a hair dryer, and i polished off the leftover with one of those sander/polishers and some wax...took it off clean no left overs...its 99 so it was kinda old already if your car is a bit newer, take it to a professional...

I used a hair drier, and dental floss. To get rid of the residue I used "goo-gone" followed by polish and wax. The car looks perfect. All you need is a lot of time and patience. Good luck

OK guy, before you screw your paint up by overheating it or scratching it........
First go purchase a bottle of GOO GONE. It can be had at most any hardware store, maybe walmart, and places like home depot, lowe's, etc.......

After you have the goo gone, start removing your badges by taking a hair dryer and using LOW HEAT to warm the badges up.
Use dental floss to slide under the badge after it is completely warmed evenly all the way across.
Use a soft cotton rag and soak the tip with goo gone. This stuff dries quickly so you'll have to reapply it to the rag often. Wipe the area with goo gone over a few times and then go over it a final time and wipe clean.
Wax the area with a good wax and you're done.

Jury, dude I've used goo gone for years. I have a bottle right now. If the pros shoot too high I'll do it myself. Thanks for the info though.

The pro's have a bottle of Goo gone and some dental floss.
I'd know, I worked detail for a huge car dealer for years. It's the "correct" way to do it.
When they are done waxing they'll rub some of that instant shine spray wax over it and shoot it out the door.
