for those of yall w/staggered tire set up...
whats up fellas. my clk is lowered and have a 19 by 8.5,9.5 staggered set up.i was just curious to see how long your tires are lasting. ive had my car for 2yrs now and have gone thru two sets of tires already ive also put about 55k miles on my car in those 2 years. so im averaging about
25k on each set of tires. is this normal?? ive noticed that the inside always wears out at about 12-15k mi. and then i rotate the two front with each other and also the back so they can evenly wear out.i just bought my third set. heres the question, is this normal?? do i need an alignment? camber kit? thanx for all your input

My tires wouldnt last me more that 6 months, especially the right rear for some reason. I got the k-mac camber kit front and rear, seems to be wearing more evenly now. A camber kit will make a big difference.

25000 miles for a set of tires sounds about right. I have the same staggered setup and I am currently on 16000 miles with my set of Yokohama AVS tires. Looks like there's enough tread left to make 25000 miles. My car is also lowered with H&R Springs. And i did do the alignment. I have not rotated the tires since it will cost me an arm and a leg of $200+ to dismount and remount the tires from left to right. Where did u get ur tire rotation, krayzie_e99? did it cost u that much too?

I agree. 25,000 miles for a tire set-up is about right for our cars.
It also depends on the brand of tire you use, too. I go with Michelin or Goodyear Eagle F-1s. I tried some Yokohamas a while back and those POS tires went about 10,000 miles before crapping out.
Make sure the alignment is good and you'll be fine.

wel im not a fan of paying over 300 per tire for a brand name like michelin or bridgstone. when i bought my wheels, they came with hankook ventus, which lasted 25k miles. then i got a flat on my front tires and was forced to buy nankang because at the nearest tire shop, thats all they had. they lasted about 22k miles. i recently purchased some General tires for 140 a piece from tire rack. com. hopefully they will last. thanx guys for the input. so i guess 25k aint too bad. ima still try to get an alignment soon. i doubt i will get a camber kit tho, maybe for my next tire setup.
and for the person that asked, i get charged around 30buks to rotate my tires. just go to an independent shop. if u go to a big chain tire shop, they are bound to charge u an arm and a leg, esp. cause its a mercedes. for some reason, they tend to think we **** money just cause we drive mb's,lol
