I could go on and on with a very lengthy informational reply with what I've done but my set up is very aggressive and I have done some mods to make it all work because my car is abnormally slammed ( 3 1/2" drop ). I will try to keep it simple for a begining set up where you will have no issues.

1. Only lower you car with H&R or Eibach...no extra lowering with spring pad swaping or cutting of springs until you have your wheels installed.

2. Wheel sizes can be 20x8.5 and 20x10 or 9.5.

3. Rear Offsets should be in the range of 30mm to 40mm...25mm would be the max but you could possible get some minor rubbing.

4. Front offsets should be in the range of 32mm to 38mm.

5.Front tire sizes should be in the range of 225/30/20 or 235/30/20 or 225/35/20 or 235/35/20.

6. Rear tires sizes should be 255/30/20 and 245/30/20.

Should you decide to go as low as you can go with the spring pad swap depending on what offset and tire size you go with up front you will have a little rubbing that will require front fender rolling, but if you keep it to the bare minimum like I have advised you will have no problems.

Hope this helps. If you're interested in purchaing some really nice wheels let me know and I will hook you up. You will have no issues with my set up because it was made to clear an aggressive drop. And you would be buying wheels from a person who really takes care of their wheels. The wheels are always spotless so that means no brake dust spotting nor is there any scratches...just one minor scuff but nothing that should stop you from turing down such a good deal. 20's look the best on a clk because 19's look ok but you always feel like there is something missing after you walk away from the car or when you're walking up to it, I figured out that 20's was what was missing. Think about it.

CLK FAN,

What's your opinion on 19 front and 20 in the rear? Cuz 19's fit w/ lowering (not as low as yours, but standard lowering springs and shocks) and look good in the front, but 19's seem small in the rear. Do you think you could do 19x8.5 front and 20x10 rear w/ no modifications and lower it? I was thinking the rear has more clearance...

I think that would look HOT. make sure the car is lowered nicely so no wheel well gaps are too obvious.

I think there should be no problem with that set up as long as you get the right offset option for the rear. I though about doing that also a while back with some Brabus VI wheels in silver or the CL65 AMG replicas because the 20x10 has a nice lip. That would be nice to see. Any wheel you have in mind?

If the rolling diameter of the front and rear tires are very far off, in addition to the the cruise not working, the ABS & BAS will have fits.

Doubt it. Interesting point though. Do you know first hand or from experience?

The ESP system is crazy about having all the same rolling diameters, or else it thinks that one wheel is slipping and will apply the brakes and flash the light.

As long as there within a reasonable amount it will be fine.

I was thinking the 65 reps would be sweet, refinished in black w/ the deep lip too.

If I'm understanding everything correctly, 20's will fit just fine with the stock ride height. Is this correct? CLK FAN, do you still have a set of wheels for sale? I might be interested!

20's will fit fine with a stock ride height. The only problem is that you may have a very high stance..you might want to lower the car with conservative drop from Eibach.

I do still have my wheels...I never sold them because the wheels I wanted were way to expensive and I didn't want to come up with the rest of the money after selling these.

I do have my eye on some wheels that are not so expensive though..make me an offer and I may take it.

20s will only look good if you slam the car, on a regular drop it'll look like a 4x4. Personally I would go with 19s, they look perfect on the 208.

Does anyone have pics of a CLK on 20's with the stock ride height? I'm in DC and the roads are bad enough as it is! I don't really want to mess with the suspension if I don't have to. I might just end up going with the 19's!

How much of a performance (straight line) loss would you experience with 20's? Same questions for 19's? And I know that lots of it has to do with how heavy the wheels are, but I just want a general idea...

I agree that CLK w/20's dropped looks absolutely sick, but wouldn't that also degrade your cornering ability?

Thank you in advance...

Post some pics man, really interested to see how that setup looks. Been thinking of getting the amg replicas in 20x10 for the rear to get the big rear lips.

Wut up LowRydeR? Did you ever sell your car? We met quite sometime ago when I was going to buy those Gun Metal DPE's RO7's. As you can see, yes I still have my car after all these years.
