Beating the crap out of my CLK 430
I'm a pretty active driver with my 430 cab. i used to own a 240sx drifter and always love brigin that back end around.
On my way to work this morning I drifted across two lanes in 1st gear and selected second and then bang the car bogged out as if someone threw a stick in the tranny and all lights on the dash came on "ABS, SRS, ABC, DVD, MP3, VCD, VCR, the works man. also to add on the information council a battery and alternator light as well. my stereo also cut off for a split second as well.
GUYS, whats up? should i take this car to the mechanic or perform exorcism!
i just came back from a euro shop close to my shop and the guy is pretty honest. he said that he wont be able to read anything if nothing is constantly displayed on the dash, which i figure he's right since the car only acts up when i take 1st or any gear to high rpm, when i slow to normal rpm the abs light turns off and the car operates normaly!
i just did another test,
i selected 1st gear from start and punched it, as its accelerating hard even at 3 to 4 rpm the abs light turn on.
i spoke to a auto tranny guy and he's telling me that i probably "crunched" the tranny, i guess thats his way of saying its done for.
not sayin i need the ride to hit it up but work can go alot faster with a few tools!
we will not have this kind of talk on this thread! even if it is the truth.
you think even if the car drives normaly at regular speeds it could still be a mechanical problem?
i just bought a set of rims and i'm not gonna have anything to put them on!

drove to work this morning and everything was fine, no bas light nothing wrong with gear changes, everything seems fine?
this leads me to believe its a computer controll problem.
does anyone know if the rear wheels are controlled by any eletronic or lsd component that i should look into.
any input from you pro's would be helpfull....
so far i feel like i'm writting love letters to myself!
Personally, I'd open the trunk and look at the date on the battery. After seeing that it's 5+ years old, I'd call Mercedes at the 1 800 number and have them change it. Then I'd take it to the dealer and see if VIN on the car is in the range for the voltage regulator recall. That's because low voltage from a bad battery can cause any number of intermittent problems, and voltage spikes from a bad voltage regulator can cause intermittent problems, followed by a permanent error when the ECU gets fried.

I offerred to sell mine for $60 just the last week. Unfortunately, the subject of Digimoto came up, and all of a sudden, no one wanted mine.
The Digimoto reader is way better than my reader, and if I needed a reader I certainly wouldn't buy mine, but it is available.
when I had the 17" stockers on my clk did the same thing (all dash lights)after flooring it with ESP off, at a stop light....
I stoped the car, and gave it a 5 minute break, and it was all ok.
now I roll on 19"s and it no longer peels out..=( (just a weak tire chirp)
