CLK Towing question
I am going to move from Georgia to Texas in 2 weeks and I am going to have to tow my CLK with my Navigator.
Question: Can I just tow it with the TOW DOLLY (the one that you just drive your front wheels onto)?
Or do I have to rent the one that I drive the whole car onto? Which is 550 plus taxes and more for insurance for just 2 days use!!
Or does anyone know a cheaper way to get my car from Augusta, GA to Fort Hood, Texas?
Need some help figuring out the cheapest way to do this..THANKS!!

I've done one-way rentals of their auto transport. I drive my car onto the transport, and then pull the transport with a truck. The last one I rented, I picked up just outside of Phoenix, drove 400 miles (or so) into Southern California, and dropped the transport off at another U-Haul store. It wasn't anywhere near $500. IIRC it was under $200.

Damn thats a good deal for 200!!!!! I called them and they said that they only do 5 day rentals at a minimum for 500 bucks plus tax and then I would have to buy insurance. This is what I was originally going to do,but not at that high price. Driving both vehicles is my last choice of course, I would rather drive with my family all in one vehicle and let them relax.
I will go into UHAUL again and ask them about this again.

I posted about a "U-Haul auto transport".
There's a big difference. A U-Haul auto transport has a pair of 10 foot long ramps that are used to bring the car up to the trailer height of 20 inches or so. The car only has to rise about 2 inches per foot. Flatbeds are a completely different scenario. A flatbed is a truck and the car has to get at least twice as high in less room.
