JP Performance Headers
Has anyone installed JP Performance headers? I have been digging around, but haven't found much information. Thanks.

Here is a picture of the JP Performance headers. I'm close to buying a set, but have been debating on JP Performance versus Kleemann. We all know how expensive Kleemann headers are. In contrast, the JP Performance headers run about $1200.

Thanks for the information. Yes, I know his products KICK TAIL for BMW. I just haven't found much information on Mercedes. I think I am going to buy a set of them.

JP's headers look very nice, although they seem to resemble "stepped" manifolds as opposed to headers. Are they Jet-Hot/HPC coated or are they chrome plated? Before everyone jumps in on a group buy, is there a confirmed dyno gain (both before and after the install)?

The website is jpheadersexhaust dot com. I sent them an e-mail and tried to get some specifications on the CLK headers, but I never got a reply. I also spoke to a BMW aftermarket parts supplier in the Northeast, who sells lots of JP Performance. He had no information on the CLK headers either (though he did rave about their products for the BMW).

Okay, Doug at Turner Motorsport got back to me and said that he couldn't get the price any lower. He said the headers are handmade and labor intensive. Notwithstanding, he did say that free ground shipping was doable (so the price is $1150).
He is already $50 cheaper than buying directly from the JP Performance website. Hence, if you are interested in a set, PM me and let me know no later than Sunday evening. I will get back to Doug next Monday morning with an order count and the names. After that, everyone can place the order (I will send along and post the contact information).

V8 heads have four exhaust ports per head. V6 heads have three exhaust ports per head. Headers bolt to the head. Headers for a V8 have 4 primary tubes, one tube for each exhaust port. Headers for a V6 have 3 primary tubes, one tube for each exhaust port. That is one reason why a V8 header will not fit a V6 engine.

Many may not have answered the question about whether they fit because they didn't want to write anything offensive. However, the silence has had a negative impact, so here is the answer -since the headers won't fit, smog is not an issue.

But there's another company that made custom headers for a 320. I saved it on my favorites somewhere. I remember it being priced at roughly $2,300.
That's the ONLY reason why i saved that link, just cause they made them for V6's too. Once i find that link, i'll post it up.

A header for a V6, does not mean it will fit a CLK320, which has unique requirements. To date, only Supersprint made headers for the CLK320, but they are not available anymore and then of course Kleemann.
None of the other manufactures have test fitted their headers on a CLK.
