Navigator System and DVD Players
I am interested in purchasing a DVD Player for my upcoming 2002 CLK CAB. What are some suggestions as to the type I should purchase? Are DVD Players compatible with the Navigator System?
Help I need some advice.
Thanks,
Terry

I would buy and only use Alpine or McIntosh. I don't like anything else. (unless you can get adzest from Japan!)
For amps, I would only use McIntosh. I use them in my own car. Have used Xtant ones before also.

Alpine all the way! although id have to admit that pioneer stuff is getting real close to alpine these days. i know the next coming pioneer dvd nav will feature weather and traffic updates every 30 secs and will calculate the best route w/ accounting traffic. just plain cool.

Actually...CUE support is already available with Pioneer
The Pioneer DVD Navigation (9DVD) already has the traffic data support (it uses the CUE satellite paging network to receive traffic data). This is the same service that most radio/news stations subscribe to. However, it requires that you pay for the CUE service, which is about $60/year.
I haven't heard about the weather feature.

Traffic, weather and news...
Well, this thread has been quite serendipitous for me. After pulling out my owner's manual for the Pioneer AVIC-9DVD, it appears that my unit does support weather and news updates.
It also, appears that CUE service is offering their service for free for the first year to Pioneer owners, so I'm signing up tomorrow.
