There are four catalytic converters in this picture. The engine would be to the left. Downstream is to the right, where the single resonator is followed by the muffler.

I like it. A little throatier when I put my foot in it. Not very noticeable at idle. I just replaced with straight pipe stainless. Be advised that this is where goes down from 2 pipes to 1. Some are buying universal 'x' pipes and installing. Search it, you'll find the one.

the mechanic i took it to out here in long island, he got them from mercedes ralley out here in long island... he thought they were gonna be even more expensive..but i did see after market ones by castco and were cheaper but i went with the factory cats so i could get rid of that big bright yellow annoying check engine light! so im feeling alot happier lol i guess

1999 Mercedes Benz CLK430
I removed my resonator and the muffler and sounds pretty good and it kinda feels quicker too! Does it make a difference power wise though?
