Stealership f*ucked my car up

I gotta vent.

As some of you may know a few months ago my car died overnight from leaving my dome light on. For some reason this caused my odometer to completely reset! I literally started off fresh again with 000000 miles.

Well I finally got it into the Mercedes dealership here in town as my independent guy could not do anything for me. So off to the dealership for them to fix along with an oil change and a replacement K-40 relay which direct voltage to the 02 sensors (I think).

Long story short. They call yesterday and say my whole cluster is done for and the mileage cannot be reset at all. On top of that my speedometer is non responsive, my gas gauge now reads empty with the low light on, I have a slue of error messages flashing even for stuff I dont have lie tire pressure sensors! The cel is on along with bas/esp. Basically the only thing functioning on my instrument cluster is my RPM's and I think my temp gauge may be working not really sure.

The technician told me that because of my faulty cluster they're computer is not able to program anything at all. They hooked it to thier computer to get readings than reset the whole deal and than could not reprogram it at all. Basically my car is in worse shape than when it went in. I cant even run through the menu at all as there are only errors flashing!!! I don't know how fast I'm going and I don't know how much gas i in the car!!! You don't even want to know what he quoted me on a new cluster, fu cking ridiculous, so pissed...

I need a cluster, he said it was not their fault and that it was because the guage was faulty prior to them hooking it to their computer.

I need a working cluster for an 01 clk430 hopefully with no pixel defects/lights out ect. LMK if you have one for sale

Sorry for the long message but it's like a fireworks show inside my car right now. On a good not, the car was running really smooth on the way home

Yeah it's a bunch of crap I also just noticed that when I turn my car off and remove my key, my nav/radio stays on even if I lock the car! I guess thiss is also tied to the cluster somehow. I am gonna have to take notes now on how to turn my car my car off and on...

Yeah i saw that and sent a PM to the seller. The guy wanting one had a 99 clk so I'm not sure about the compatibility but I guess we will see. I randomly see them for sale on ebay but then again it's kind of a gamble when buying something like this.

oh and the next dealership is quite a ways away. Not really anywhere I can easily travel too but thanks for asking I wish I could get a second opinion, as of now, my instrument cluster is little to no use at all. It is basically out of order.

With all the electronics in the car, I had the feeling that your car battery is going bad (I said thru my experience : all the weirds warning lights come up @ one time or another, even the SOS start dial (I do not subcribe it) & radio, CD keep playing after the key is out, I replaced the battery (6 years old). Never have any warning lights come up after a new battery in place. Use a voltmeter to check out your car's battery (Chief, Kragen... auto part stores check out the battery for free). Maybe a new battery will cure it all. Try that 1st, before spend a lot of $$$ for the cluster. Good luck.

I've read some positive results for cluster repair at BBA-Remanufacturing in Massachusetts. Good luck.

I still have the stock radio & CD changer, but I added a 12 inches sub (with power amp) to the car (it give more bass, but not ghetto thumping).
