My Rims Got Crashed!!

It was last night... I crashed it into the sidewalk and my wheels and tires were crashed... Fortunately, there was no body damage... I was going to get rims for CLK and now, I have no choice but definitely will have to buy a new set. It's horrible! And, I got retrofitted comand system from Steve a day before I got an accident. Comand System does work but after I hit a sidewalk, I do not hear any sound. CD player, am/fm, navigation, all works ok, but no sound... what is the problem here? Need to contact Steve..before he leaves... HEADACHE!!!!

I need a set of rims as soon as possible. I used to see many good rims at good price in eBay, as well as in mbworld.org, but right now, there is none!

Anyone has 19" rims?
Lorinser, Brabus, Lowenhart???????????????

I also need an immediate shipment

How much do you guys think I can sell my rims with tires?
Two front tires were brand new, but one is useless.

Any comments here? What should I do?

Damn!
You hit that crub pretty hard, to break a rim as bad as that. You may want to have the Suspension checked along with Frame and alignment. There could be more damage than you think.

Best of luck to you,
Tim

Sorry to hear about that. The rim does look pretty bad. Hope you find your new set of rims soon. With your sound, maybe the audio plug in the back of your command got loose when you bumped into that sidewalk. If you pull out the COMAND, depending on how Steve installed it, then you could try pushing the B plug (I think) back in. Otherwise, the speakers not working could be caused by other parts in the car, maybe the amplifier, or something internal in the COMAND. Hopefully, its not that bad. Good luck with getting everything fixed again.

Don't worry about your suspension or frame- I've done the same thing several times to my '00 430. All in all, I bought 7 Brabus Monoblock Vs because of destroying 'em on curbs, potholes, etc. Benzos are built to take it. If it were a Bimmer, you'd be in trouble .

That is what I said as well...since the comand functions perfectly and hooking up a different comand gave the same silent result...all plugs in the comand are good and the CD changer works perfectly (thus the C1 connector and D2B wake up function).

I didn't know you hit that curb THAT hard man! Your rear rim looks like new compared to this front one!

good luck & greetingz,

I would advice you to take your car to the dealer or an independent MB body shop. I hit my rim on a curb once(1 week after I bought the car), and there was sever subframe damage, suspension damage etc etc. I think the whole bill was 10k. I'm not saying yours could be that bad, but my rim didn't look that bad when I hit mine...

Bought the rims!

I bought a new set of rims + tires (4 months old). They are Lowenhart LD1 silver (19x8.5 all around). I wish I can have staggard type but no choice, since I am in hurry.

I would like to ask you guys about tire set up.
What would be the good tire set up for these rims?

The original owner has 235/30/19 all around. Isn't this little narrow for the rear?

I have 245/35/19 tires, so should I replace them with my tires? I think 235/30/19 is good for front. Please advise!

Oh.. i bought them for $1600 shipped.... NICE DEAL???

$1600 shipped for 4 months old Lowenhard LD-1 with tires is pretty good deal for me. You are lucky. :-)

Since you have 19x8.5 all around, the maximum width of tires that you can put on this wheel is 245.

I think it is better to have wider tire for the sake of sprinting.

Check with other guys.
