Stay safe out there man. and make sure you test drive the car for a few days before driving it back for 800 miles, because when i did my turbo about 4 years ago my tranny took a dump after a week and the main reason i didn't persu the project was the tunning issues. i would hate to see you stock in the middle of the road. so just do a few days of test runs and you should be good to go. also on your drive back what i would recomend doing is do the tranny reset so it comes out of it's current mode(our trannies are adaptive to our driving style) and get used to the drive with the added boost. best of luck and if you have any questions don't hesitate to pm me since i have alot of experience with turbos and a little with turbo on a clk. best of luck to you.
p.ss for the drive back lower the boost to the bare min for a safe reliable drive back and once you get back home change the pressure spring on your wastegate to a larger boost spring.

Yes I did a custom turbo about 4 years ago if you search my old posts you can see pics of the turbo and the intercooler, mine had the tubo in the engine bay I had the exhaust pipe cut and re routed into the bay into the turbo, th reason why I took it off is because tuning it to be perfect and reliable for long drives is nearly impossible plus the trannies on these cars can not handle the boost. The closest I got the tuning was with the apexi afc, but there was still the issue of long drives for me, I go to vegas almost once a month and need my car as reliable as possible, plus the trannie on these cars are not that great, so I beefed my tranny a bit and still not good. Long story short I was aiming to boost about 11 to 13 lbs, but anything over 5 to 6 lbs on these cars is not reliable unless if u go with kleeman and their tunning stuff. So to me just having the blow off valve noise wasn't good enough soi scrapped the whole project, and some of the parts are in my garage collecting dust, lol
and can u link me to ur old thread...?
thanks
