Replace Cracked Fog Light Lens
Checked the "how to" thread and couldn't find an answer. Need to replace a cracked right fog light lens on my '99 CLK. Is this something easily done or does it have to go the Dealer. In addition, where is the best place to get a new one other than an MB dealer?

99CLK320,
try autohausaz.com. if they don't have it you will have to go to the dealer. I just looked at the site and they don't have it. I just hope the dealer has one. they don't have lenses for the headlights. if you wipe out one of those you have to replace the entire bucket. good luck.

Looks like just two bolts at the top. The 96's.

99CLK320,
!
that's funny that the right lense cost $1.01 more than the left lense. and....thank you to the guy that sold me two oem headlights for $100.00 when the originals go for for $315 each and, ....the left one is 59 cents more than the right. LOL!

ONLINEALIAS, thank you for the url link, very helpful. Have ordered the part will make repair.
DLBEHRNS, I continued to google the part and found "bimmerspecialist.com" that had the OEM part for $18, both left and right lens were the same price. Go figure!

Need to replace both fog light lenses on my 1999 CLK 320. How do I remove the lenses? The link in the above post is broken - http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.asp...SGR=210&SGN=06

Well, I just did remove and replace the foglight lense and it is a rather simple process...
1) Jack up the side of the car where the lense is located and make sure to place a jack stand as a safety measure...
2) Remove the four screws holding the access panel directly below the fog light, then drop the plastic panel...
3) You now can see the foglight assembly... on the left and right are two 8mm machine screws holding the fog light to the bumper... remove each screw and the fog light will drop right down...
4) Once you have the assembly in hand there are three spring clips holding the lense to the assembly... pop the three clips and the lense falls out into your hand... be careful these are made of glass...
5 Place the new lense in, pop your three clips back on and screw everything back together...

CLKBOB, thanks so much for the reply. Sounds simple.
I started the above process but didn't see the 8mm screws - probably because I didn't jack the car up.
Strange that the 'stealership' said they could not replace only the lens.
