Changing instument lights

Anyone know how to change dash lights?

Whats the best way to access the back of the instrument cluster?

The temp read out on the instrument cluster isn't showing the top of some numbers can I replace just the lcd display?

u need to pull it out.
get a hanger and hook it to the side and pull it.
click on the search and too many threads will pop out
its either the bulb is out or its broken.
if its broken, u need to change the entire cluster which is $1200 or u can solder it, but its hard and i would not mess with it.
my temp is gone completely so i dont care, it bothered me at first but not anymore

NO, u have to get them from dealer and they are cheap,
exepct the main one for the dig speedometer in the middle, its like $8 per bulb and u need 4 if they are out

Thanks Mike.

Once it popped ( like you said ) it was an easy fix.

I see what you mean about the LCD Ill attack it when I have time to give it 100%.

Thanks again you are a great help.

Its not hard as it seems. watch out for the plug there is only 2. There is a clip on the back that just needs to slid down it does not come off the plug.

Good luck

What I have learned:

German engineering is so precise that they can actually compression fit a cluster

There are two bulbs that are the main lights for the instruments.

These bulbs are standard as long as you don't lose the plastic MB socket they are in.

All the other lights (ESP! Brake etc) are non standard bulbs and must be ordered from the MB dealership.

Once the cluster was out it was indeed an easy fix. Now I can see my 120mph at night
