Steering Damper?

Does anyone have a picture of what the steering damper looks like on the car? What kind of tool did guys use to get the drivers side bolt off. I cant seem to get an open end wrench or anything to get on it. The bolt goes in from the top correct? That's how mine is, and because of the angle of the bolt, there is no space the get a tool on there? Any help is greatful.

Dude, remove it from the bottom of the car. It as easy as changing your tire.

I know its easy to replace. My question is what kind of tool did you use. I CANT get an open end wrench or a socket over the drivers side bolt.

99CLK320,
I don't know what it looks like under there but is the damper connected to the drag link? if so dropping the dl should give you a different angle at the damper.

No, it is not connected with the drag link. Its only two bolts. But I just want to know what tool you guys used?

I don't remember what sized combination wrench or socket I used, but it was very easy. The damper was on the floor in 5 minutes.

I used a socket on both ends but I can't remember the size. I remember it being extremely simple and it didn't require the removal of anything else. I just lifted one side of the car and unscrewed both bolts. It sounds like someone put the bolt upside down and one of your bolts is facing up toasted the top instead of down like normal????

It doesn't really matter !!! What happen to your commons senses? You can use sockets and sockets, wrench and socket or wrench and wrench. Use one to hold and the other to turn it.
